    Can you tell what exactly failed? I've worried that too much richness would foul the cats, but failure wasn't part of that calculus.

    Do the AFE headers + cats have a metal core? With all the failures sounds like cheap material. Probably fine for an N/A motor, but junk with boost.

    LOTS to do in the area: biking, skiing, climing, etc. I can be in Moab in a couple of hours. As long as the parks are open (I won't make any political remarks), you can go all over even in the winter. I like seeing what's on the other side of the hill.

    Well, I cannot say for sure the cause of failure. Looking at the bank 2 side, the center section is symmetrically sliding out. Kind of like one of those frames of needles that you could get at the mall. Where you can imprint an image from the backside. Know what I mean?
    The cats are metal core with a ceramic coating. The bank 2 side is in crumbles, like packing material in my Y pipe. That cat chamber is completely cleaned out and smooth.

    Reading online it seems that there is little benefit from running a gutted cat, to issues of echo and reverse pulsation back to the motor. Guessing the increased diameter of the cat chamber overcomes the restriction from the media. Removing media results in turbulence and less scavenging.
    Maybe these are a good option for N/A...?

    That CO book is priceless. I was able to spend a week on the alpine loop, black bear pass, Imogene, almost all my bucket list roads this past fall. Amazing, terrifying, and beautiful!

    I haven't been too many places yet in CO. Took my father-in-law up past Silverton right before Thanksgiving in an effort to hit part of the Alpine Loop (I think that's what it is called). Then he asked me what elevation we were at because he had a headache... Argh! He's 86. I took him back down because hurting the father-in-law would not improve my odds... He had fun, though. So, I'll probably take him towards Moab and Arches. Lower elevation... He's my ticket out of the house! Gee, dear, your dad really wanted to go.

    I believe the afe headers are a ceramic core. Best compromise imo would be to buy shorty headers and weld or vband a cat or high flow cat w/metallic core to factory flange or vband (less stealth but good for quick change).

    Update on my truck running rich again. Hooked it to the uTune and monitored my AEM gauge versus the WRAF #1 and #2 and my AEM is way off. Under idle it is corect, but under boost or lower vacuum it is not right at all. My AEM goes clear to 8.02 under boost and the WRAF is sitting at about 12.5-12. On a closed course for testing procedures. Not sure why the gauge is so far off. Brand new X-guage as of November.

    I would start at the sensor, not the gauge. I think if the gauge is failing you are more likely to see it bad across the spectrum. This may be a case of a Bosch sensor giving up early. May try a Denso version instead.
