The video I saw had a removable top plate that exposed all of the analog config stuff. Is that not the case?

If you're using the 6.1200 yes, it will have the dials. If you have the D-6.1200, you will not as the gains are controlled by the software.

Unsummed I still have what looks like a full range signal. It's just when summed it sounds as if the highs are more pominent or with channels 3-4 alone the highs are more apparent. I'm beginning to think this might be how the head unit is designed as I am pretty sure the rear speakers were just fillers stock.

I firmly stand on the opinion you should not sum anything unless you are feeding HF and LF from each channel through separate high level inputs. Here is the intent:

    1- Left HF input
    2- Left LF input
—-> map to output 1 Left

    3- Right HF input
    4- Right LF input
—-> map to output 2 Right

In doing so, you feed full range to the amplifier input for each channel by summing the HF and LF, fed by a factory amplifier for instance that has them separated, to the input of the new amp, so you can sum (add them together) to be amplified and sent to your new (passive) crosssover.

You should absolutely not sum two full range signals together.

I have them set for their own respective channels now. I messed with the EQ a bit to get better highs in the signal but no so for them to be overbearing. Contemplating going to my local audio shop and having them fabricate the tweeters into the sail panels. He quoted me 500$ depending on the finish.

$500 is insane for just punching holes in your sails.

Lat time I put tweets in a sail I was able to use this. It just depends on the size of the tweet maybe but I’ve done it twice with different brands. Nice clean hole unless your plastic is hard AF, then it might crack possibly.

I'll give it a shot. There's one more thing I wanna try. Just for the hell of it I'm gonna toss those new Alpine X Series 6x9's into the door and see what those speakers do. If the tweeter fades out or can't get loud enough then I'll know for sure it's something with the tuning.

So, question for you guys about the loudness of this system. I am running speaker level inputs to the DSP/Amp. If I had something to convert it to rca and increase the input voltage would that in turn make the system louder?

Also I ordered the ac-bt24 from Audio Control. It has the Aptx HD codec and I can stream directly to it. We'll see how much of a difference that makes.

So, is the system not loud enough? Not sure how that could be possible.... even running stock speakers I had a hard time turning it past halfway before it was too loud.

Now that I have 3 way components in the front and 2 way coax in the rear I still have a hard time getting past half way before its just too loud.

When you say loudness, are you talking about overall volume level or bass level?

EDIT: reading the rest of this thread, something is not setup right if your amping your speakers and still getting low volume. Turn off all crossover settings in the amp, they are not needed since you have passive crossovers to the speakers already.

I didn't see where the input/output gains were reset after disabling all summing on the amplifier. I think this is contributing.

It just doesn't get all that loud in general. I can't set the gains very high before it starts to clip. At about 1.7/12db on the gain and it still leaves more left to be desired on overall volume. This may be due to the fact I'm using speaker level input as opposed to RCA but with this Bluetooth dongle for the D-6.1200, I'll be able to bypass the headunit and stream directly into the DSP/Amp. I'll report back with results. Also, replacing the Ultra Tempo 692's with Virtus 602's in the front.

Line level inputs should be just fine, I mean, this is what the amp is designed for. You say you set the radio to 45, then set your gains from there.

Try it different, set the volume to 30, then set your gains from there. I put my volume last night to 30, and that was a comfortable level, from there I would set my gain to match that volume level.

I have the audiocontrol acm 4.300.

Also, I didnt see it mentioned anywhere, but do you happen to have the factory JBL system?
