It’s been an Alaska truck it’s whole life so the frame is immaculate (we don’t use salt on the roads here). Manual transmission with 4.30 axle. I’ve enjoyed this project and am looking forward to taking it out of winter hibernation!

151k. Seller wanted 8 and originally told me off when I started talking price. He came back to me eventually and I paid $6250. Good thing because it needed exhaust. Will do ball joints and fluids next. Auto. Happy with it.

    Looks like frame was done.

$6,500, v6 4x4 5-Speed. Probably paid a little much, but it was worth it to me. It popped on on Craigslist close to home and is exactly what I wanted including the color. I'm happy to be back in a 1st gen Taco!

    1998 SR5 2.7 4x4 194K

She was abandoned for about 3 years by the first owner. I am now second. I declared it abandoned with the DMV and local magistrate court, sent out some certified letters to the owner and lienholder. I waited for a period of time and claimed the title via magistrate court.
Once I had the title to it, I drained out all the old fluids filled with new, replaced battery and what do you know. She fired right up. Been driving as a daily ever since.

I paid $10,500 for mine this past spring... then a few thousand more
for new steering rack and stuff and then replacing some guts behind
the dashboard... the dashboard bill was a lot but when winter got here
and I could run the defroster onto the windshield it seemed worth it :) ...

I'm retired now, and through my life I've had one awesome truck, and
then a few more bloated giant trucks that could barely turn around in
    a walmart parking lot....

Here's the awesome truck, I didn't know how awesome it was when
I had it, I thought it would always be possible to buy a good small
    truck...

The 1st gen probably isn't as nimble as my old Nissan, but is pretty
    close...

Rolling lock, spray bed liner, viper alarm, wet okole seat covers, tint and electronic rust inhibitor which I don't it works. Supposedly new frame, it looks good. 1995.5 Sr5. I’m pretty sure it has every factory option. Single owner, old lady, traded it in for a ridgeline because she had trouble using the clutch as she got older. Purchased with 108k miles for $8k, with new timing belt and water pump installed.

Just got her. 2001 Prerunner V6 for $9,000 63,000 Miles. I cannot explain how clean this little truck really is - I've looked over a year for a nice 1st Gen.

I picked up my 2001 Imperial Green dbl cab Prerunner 3.4L SR5 for $4k. It's unmodded and pretty much loaded with all the power options, 16" aluminum rims, cruise, as well as factory running boards, a Toyota bed liner and an ARE cap. The truck had 137k on it, and he just replaced the rack and the exhaust from the cat back. The Toyota battery and Michelin tires were only one year old and he just had the brake and trans fluid changed. He even had mats placed over the factory carpet mats (literally brand new). The truck has been predominantly dealer maintained and since it was garage kept, the frame is pretty much rust free. This has to be the best deal I've ever gotten on a vehicle. He actually wanted $3800, and due to my slight guilt (he is a colleague), I rounded it up to $4k.

As a side note, I also picked up a set of 2011 17" TRD Sport rims from Craigslist last year. The guy I picked it up from was a forum member and was totally cool. He swapped in an aftermarket set of rims and did some serious work to his suspension, but he was tired of tripping over the old set. They were virtually mint, with less than 20k miles on them - He sold them to me for $100 with the caps.

They say luck runs in threes...been looking for a bull bar and a set of KC's...

Wow, I don't feel so bad now. I purchased my 2003 Limited Editon Crew Cab for $15,900 back in 2010 I think. Truck only had 82k miles on it. One owner, clean car fax, and decent maintenance records. Frame looked good with no visible rust. I looked it over and traded my 2007 mini cooper S that day. I had missed a couple of other trucks from being lazy, and learned my lesson. When one becomes available with low milage, don't screw around or it will be gone. I had the water pump and timing belt changed at 90k miles with all the idler pulleys and tensioners. Had the Stealership in Winston Salem N.C. do a tranny flush last year. Stock Truck, serves my purposes. I've driven it to Texas twice, and go 20mpg on the highway at 70 mph. Overall, I'm quite please with it. Very happy I joined this forum, all though I seem to have the urge to spend money on mods, I'm not really sure I need. :) I expect to get 300k miles out of this truck, and hopefully the last vehicle I will own.

    In Febuary of 2002 - I paid $19,000 for a 2000 Pre-Runner extra cab 3.4L with 43K miles. Pristine condition.

Last month I paid $10,800 for a 2004 4X4 extra cab 2.7L with 72K miles. Pristine condition as well. Near perfect. Except the frame that is now being replaced.

I bought this truck back in 2010 with only 22k miles on it, paid $13,000. It now has 56k miles - haven't done much to it except routine maintenance, wheels/tires, exhaust, and a few odds & ends.

Really nice truck. And I'm one who has a really nice truck so I know:D
One thing-how do you keep your headlights so frikking clear? I keep mine "clear" of haze but they've yellowed I think on the inside of the lenses. Thinking of buying new OEMs but man, the prices!
