About halfway thru the keg of my Imperial Saison and feeling like I needed to shake things up a bit, so about 2 hours ago I dropped in 2 oz of Nelson Sauvin. The brew was crystal clear prior to the Nelson dry hop, now it looks like an NEIPA. Tastes pretty good...

I always like rounding off sours with hops. Luponic Distortion never disappoints.

That's the worst, it sounds so good but doesn't deliver. At least it wasn't a $30-40 bottle of something haha

Did it blow up the carb on it, just foam it everywhere? You drop it in a hop sack or what? My English pale smash (Maris Otter/El dorado) is pretty boring tasting. Debating dry hopping it in the keg

No foaming issues. All my hop sacks are in use, so I used one of those stainless mesh cylinders. Just dropped it in and sealed up the keg.

Good to see that bottle was not part of the infected batches GI sent out that year. I have a 2015 but I believe it was one of the infected batches.

I bought one of those but havent used it yet. wasn't sure if i should just drop it in and leave it or leave some dental floss attached through the lid seal to try and yank it out if it gets too grassy.

I always plan on leaving my keg hops in until the keg kicks. I figure if it does get grassy, which I've never really had an issue with, I could closed-transfer the brew to a clean keg, so I don't worry about having a way to retrieve the hops from the keg.

Smart idea. I've never keg hopped anything, just recently got that stainless canister deal to try it out. Seeing as how it's only me drinking my british pale smash, and i'm trying not to really drink this month... I don't know if I want to bother tossing the hops in or not, for fear it will just be a waste and not get drank. My buddies first brew (on my old gear) was a MO/Citra SMASH that tasted better than lots of beer i've made and we didnt even bother with water chemistry, just filtered tap. I'm jealous.

Man, those were all the rage like 5 years ago, then all of a sudden they disappeared for the next IPA fad. Done well, they're really good.

I totally agree. Wookey Jack got me hooked and then Firestone nuked it.

I’ll buy any black ipa I come across.
