    Yours the 8" e-locker? So I want to clear this up. People do gear and locker swaps in the models that come with the e-locker all the time right? Are there different ring gear/pinion part numbers and different locker part numbers for the 8" and 8.4"? Isn't the difference between the 2 internally in the 3rd member, not the axle housing? If yes, then why can't you take out a 8" 3rd and drop in a 8.4" 3rd? Bolt pattern different? 3rd member case different dimensions for driveshaft length? I don't understand why you can't swap 3rds. I also haven't researched it at all ...

    As for being all over it, I priced it so someone would say "holy fuck, i gotta buy that." I usually see them for sale for damn near what people paid for them. I could just send them back to ECGS but I wouldn't get any money back and someone in here would miss out on the best deal I've seen for this setup. But I can't buy new shit until someone buys the old shit.

    That's the same way I sell things, ask Zachk about deals from me. The 4Runner actually has an 8.2" rear axle. Only used in the 07+ 4Runners and FJ Cruisers. 8.2" can have e-locker or no e-locker, but is not compatible with the 8.4" or 8" either. My understanding is that all three of them are similar, but different. Slightly different tolerances, and different bolt patterns for the third member.

    8.4 housings have a bigger hole in the housing and corresponding wider bolt pattern to fit the 8.4’s bearing cap girdles compared to to the 4cyl/v6/elocker 8.0

    Why they chose to do this is one of the great mysteries of the world. This means that if you buy a truck with the e-locker in it then in order to put a different locker in, you need a whole new axle assembly. That sucks.
