My dad lives in bend, and holy shit it's beautiful there. This is his backyard.

 

Dude, it's amazing. I have never been so much like "I want to move here" as I have been with Bend. I think it was a combo of the scenery, the culture and the ridiculousness of the proximity and amount of opportunities to do some "hardcore" wilderness/back-country fishing and hunting.

EDIT: and I should add, I have been to some pretty amazing places. But, in Bend, there were tack shops, gun stores, breweries and fly shops...all in the same strip/shopping center. Amazing...

 

I give 0 fcks about the midwest. I could skip whatever is between Denver and Pittsburgh. (Sorry @Jckdnls)

Then id also skip Idaho. I have seen my fair share of potatoes.
