What this woman did voluntarily is my nightmare. I'll take snakes and spiders before high school. I still have nightmares that I have to go back and finish, and I've got multiple college degrees and industry certs. Shit :der:

You have to shave the carbon off of the injector to get it out. CAT 3208 engines are bad about it and sometimes a fuel injector slide is needed. It is easy to break an injector off too....... then  :annoyed: :goingcrazy:

All pencil injectors are bad for carboning up and can be thought to get out, sometimes the injector slide hammer ain't man enough, so you had to go big to remove it, or you pulled the head... no good options with them sometimes. IMHO....

When I was an apprentice, many many moons ago, I worked in a fuel shop and the had an injector that was taller than me and I thought at first it was a teaching tool, only to find out it was out of a ship...
I'm 5'10" and was surprised to say the least, but it was cool, I got to go to the shop to deliver it and had a walk around the engine room, the engine it was like 3 stories tall. Totally amazed...

The height of the slow speeds seems to be about the same. This one is 3 stories but it's one of their compact engines, so the overall footprint is smaller than something older of equivalent horsepower. This one pushes 25,000hp but we run about 2.7 bar out of the turbos and no camshaft losses since there is no camshaft. Top speed is 105rpm, which gives us about 21kts through the water.

Roughly 3.72 cubic meters an hour on diesel at 105rpm, works out to about 16 gallons a minute... my math is fuzzy but I think it works out to about .02 nautical miles per gallon at 21kts.
