I was on ei for 4 months on a temp lay off.
But I also worked so much over time when I was working that I've made enough where I'll have to repay at least 30% of the ei. Going to fucking suck.

My only hope is that I put enough into rrsp that I don't get ass fucked

Yeah, I just started EI. I’m in an apprenticeship training agreement. I don’t get paid overtime because I’m in a seasonal industry  kinda sucks but I don’t have to worry about overpayment or anything.

I should have paid my attention when I filed my taxes in 2017 but I was 19 and didn’t think it had actual repercussions to rush through it. I know more now lol.

just a heads up for you as I did the same when I was 18 or 19.

for the next 6-8 years you'll be re-assessed every fucking year. and if you miss 10cent they'll hassle you.
its a fucking nightmare. Paid the price of having an incompetent cunt do my taxes one year and she fucked up everything trying to 'save me money' by filing my 'self employed' wages since the company I worked for was shady as fuck as 'other income' so I didnt need to pay as much on taxes. Well when CRA caught it and asked what its from I explained to them what happened. So they didn't penalize me just made me pay the taxes and from what I understand charged her instead.

Either way it still got me flagged and I get hassled every fucking year.
    it sucks.

what is it you're doing that is seasonal and apprentice?

Damn lol, I really hope that’s not the case. Oh well, guess that’s what I get for doing my own taxes.

I do landscape construction. Right now I’m in my second year as a horticultural technician apprentice. After that I’m hoping to go to school for forestry if everything works out.

    Sigh...

Just paid the assholes online :(

Between this and paying for the diff actuator as well as a parking pass for school, it looks like might not be buying any upgrades for the truck anytime soon.

    Big old bummer.
