You are smarter then most. Buying what you need and not falling into the bells and whistle trap. I'm all about KISS ( Keep it simple stupid).

Most guys with a 4X4 never use it, I mean shit, most guys with a truck don't even use the bed !

    Yeah.
I bought my '92 base model regular cab with no options except A/C and a rear bumper (that was during the time when they decided a rear bumper was optional equipment, which I disagreed with and made them add at no charge). I kept it until 2004, sold it for $2500 with 130K miles on it when I got a new 1st gen Tacoma. It was really all I needed even with 2 kids (we also had my wife's 4Runner). Great, reliable transportation. Would love to still have one for those mulch and lumber runs and moving college kids around.

How did you make them add a rear bumper?

    Yeah.
LOL, I just I told them I wouldn't buy it unless they put a bumper on it, so they pulled it into the shop and bolted one on. Apparently due to the safety rules at the time, a bumper wasn't required. Pretty much all the small import trucks were sold with no bumper at the time, it was optional equipment. Odd times.

    Yeah.
Correct, just a plastic plug where the antenna goes. Vinyl bench seat and vinyl floor. I put a radio in it myself, got an open box deal at Circuit City. At least it came with Goodyear tires and not Dunflops. Paid like $8,800 for it brand new.

As I read this, this truck is a grate marketing tool for the dealer, people are stopping buy and looking where they normally would not, grate for lot traffic, and as for the price, well everyone knows its a lot easier to come down than go up, and who knows, like the grate W.C. Fields said...there is one born every minute.

As many TW members know, I detail cars for a large family of dealerships. I am unsure whether this is a trade-in or an auction vehicle, but it was dropped off at the detail shop a couple days ago...

Here are some pictures I took of the same truck at the detail shop today:
