+1 for Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Quiet, aggressive, and good on wet pavement.

So I have been looking at BFG KO2s but may have a better deal with Nitto. Anyone familiar with either the Nitto Ridge Grappler or Terra Grappler G2? How do they perform on the street in the rain? My current Toyo SUCK!

    Thanks in advance!

I've had my Terra Grapplers G2's for three years now and I have to say they are the worst tires I've owned for street driving in wet weather. My truck slides all over the road and forget taking off with authority in even the slightest damp streets... you will spin the tires for a few seconds before they decide to grab the road. Light snow covered roads are even worse. I had a hard time keeping my truck straight making the slightest turns, even in a parking lot. It is not just me either... my brother borrowed my truck and said he thought he was going to slide off the road going around a bend on a wet day. They look great and wear really well, but I would NEVER buy them again due to this issue.

38k on my G2s, very happy with the road, dirt, wet and snow performance. If you do alot of mud then pick something else.

I just wish they came in a 255/75/17 or 275/70/17.

My vote is for either of the Nitto tires. Have the G2 on my Tacoma and had them previously on my Wrangler Unlimited. Switched out Continentals to the Nittos on my Tacoma because I was having balancing issues. None whatsoever with Nitto. We've never had a bad experience with Nitto (whether all terrain or street tires). I strayed and went back to the Nittos...

Make sure to check the tire weights. The Ridge tires I think are about 10 pounds heavier than the G2s. Not that the Tacoma is great but it'll kill your MPGs.

I have the Ridge Grapplers and cannot recommend them highly enough. They are like the perfect compromise between a mud tire and an AT: they are quiet and quite drivable on the highway, but get it done in all environments I have encountered with them so far.

Had G2s on my 08. They were so so with stopping in wet conditions but traction while moving was actually pretty decent. Haven’t tried the ridges yet. Might be my next tire based off the responses here.

Was looking at ridge graps but got the falken at tire, really like them. Not to derail the thread but who is having problems on wet pavement with whatever tire? Grew up in PNW (lots of rain), never had an issue with anything on wet pavement. Sorry, been wanting to ask for a while.

I had the G2's and they absolutely sucked in the rain here in Puyallup/Tacoma/Seattle area.

So much so the wife said to get rid of them.

Back to Discount Tire they went.

What’s your tire size and wheel offset? Level or lift?
