Just read about that thing yesterday. Says it could tow 35,000 lbs, but the big question is how will all the other components hold up? Standard wheels and tires and suspension hauling and towing that much?

Tacoma and similar smaller truck owners shouldn’t have anything to worry about. Full size truck owners and auto companies especially diesel Fords, GM and Dodge should be worried.

Commercial tires/wheels have handled that much weight for decades.

    My statement:
If they can give me a truck that will tow 35K, a 500 mile range, 10 year warranty and a 15 minute charge time? I will pay up to $100K for that.

However, there is no truck. No concept, no prototype, no mule, no nothing. There are pictures and calculations. That's all. They are obviously looking for seed money.

I wonder if they would write an article about me if, after calculations, I said I could jump four feet high, run 100 yards in 9.9 seconds, had a 12 inch weenie and could run 26 miles before I had to eat again.

The calculations say I could, not that I can lol

Yeah if the diesel trucks can tow 30,000+ lbs this will, too. The towing and torque capacity of electric vehicles really is incredible. But, so is the cost.

I only have a minute, but I am reminded of a story I heard many years ago about a guy who figured out how to broadcast HDTV?

I remember many top scientists and engineers couldn't do it....but a single guy working in his basement did it...

    Just saying.....

The problem will always be the batteries and how do you recharge them? Just like with an ICE truck, adding lifts, bigger tires, armor, and electricity hungry mods (winches, lights, etc) will decrease the range significantly. ICE trucks are easy because it's 5 minutes at a gas station to fill up or gas cans on the trail; there is no equivalent for an EV.

I'd be cool with a hybrid if it was in the spirit of torque.

How heavy is it? I don't care so much about how much mass can it move. How well can it countersteer in a strong crosswind? How much mass can it stop at a yellow light? Hauling 20 thousand pounds on anything less than a 350 dually is either a lie or it's dangerously stupid.

IMHO, hybrid vehicles are the biggest load of bullshit ever sold to the world. They’re all hybrid assist and like at most 20% hybrid and 80% gas engine to get you slightly better gas mileage and they all cost more, some a lot more than their all gas counterparts. Also, when the battery takes a shit, the automobile is inoperable and you cannot run it on straight gas and have to replace the $5000 battery. /end rant

Take the guy who figured out how to get the sugar cellulose out of vegetation. Was on 60 minutes Sunday. Locked himself away for 10 or so years, no scientific background. Just put his mind to it and figured it out.
Suppose to be the next biofuel for cars and electricity.

Correct. That's why I specified that it's to be in spirit of torque , not fuel economy haha
