Sorry. I started the thread with the intention of hopefully finding an off the shelf kit. But alas, it is non existent.. so it snowballed into my own experiences.
    :puke:
Even if I had that kind of cash for a snorkel that look hideous. Maybe it’s the rAw stainless, or the cheap door trim around the fender hole.

While I think MESO's snorkel turned out awesome, are there any snorkel-less alternatives to air for the Tacomas? I to want to run 35s but despise the look of a snorkel. Could I run the AFE CAI with their engine bay scoop and plug the fender liner intake and still receive sufficient air flow?

Not sure how great the airflow is...but this exists.

definitely an option but very low on my list. expensive and I can see that working any better than the AFE with the RAM air scoop thingamabobber

Yeah, I'm not sure how good the airflow is -- the shape of the truck doesn't really slam a ton of air into that area so I would be reluctant to use it as my only intake source.

I think a front ram air scoop is probably your best bet.

Unrelated, those fiberglass fenders are the first I've seen that actually look good.

    not bad looking for sure.

Back to the air intake. I suppose i could also use the ram air in combination with something like MESOs little TRD screen he made. with that being said @mesojdm will you sell/make me one of those awesome little orange TRD screens?

Agreed, I haven't seen those before. They're pretty subtle and look almost stock. Too bad they're twice as much as Mcneil's fenders.

It's a hit or miss between individuals. But my experience is that on highway speeds, those times the truck would downshift to 5th gear before the arb would hold 6th gear now ( freeway on the way to work at 75mph). Definitely not on my mind . I guess the new design helps and it looks tough

I admit the stainless steel is not very appealing but they do offer a black powder option which is pretty clean I seen on their Instagram

Pete with Sloop Imports out of Colorado brought in Steve with inhouse fabrications from Australia prior to Sema. This one is on a Hilux made by Steve.
