I have a 2018 off road and when I brake or accelerate the driver seat slightly moves forward or backwards (nothing major, just annoying). I'm not slamming on the brakes or mashing on the gas.

Does anyone else have this issue?

I notice it from time to time that the back seems to move slightly. Never bothered me enough to investigate further.

Mine does the same on occasion. Slightly irritating, but never enough for me to investigate.

I had the same issue for the first few weeks after I bought it. After moving the seat back and forth several times one day, the locking mechanism eventually fully locked and I no longer have the problem.

I experienced something like this with mine. I believe one side wasn’t “catching” in the stops. I had to move it back and forth a few times then let it catch. I moved back and front hard then it seemed to fully engage. My guess would be that one side is slightly off in alignment for the rail.

I'm at 25k miles. It's done it since forever. Annoying asf, so I'll have the dealer look at it soon. Rear Axle's need to be replaced as well.

Mine does. We did a deep clean of our vehicles over the weekend and moved the seats. Now it does it all the time. If it continues I'll have the dealership look at it when I go in next month. My Nissan did the same thing only worse though.

Sit in the seat and push the seat back and forward. You may also have to "twist" while doing it so that one side moves more than the other. The locking slots are not aligned correctly.
You want to have it lock in. If you get in a wreck, it is possible the seat may move. Reducing the effect of airbags and/or seat belts.

I have that issue in my 2nd gen only after I removed the seat and put it back in.

It only happens if someone adjusts the seating position. Jerk it forward or backward and it should click into place.

Mine does it pretty bad on both sides, told normal per Toyota. Moves like 1/8-1/4". I posted a video on this a few months ago. If you open your back door and grab the seatback and pull back slightly you can see the latch flex on the outer seat rail. You can feel it everytime you accelerate or brake.

If it’s the sliding portion you’re talking about, usually unbolting all 4 floor bolts and then retorquing should take care of the issue. Sometimes when installing the seat the frame can be twisted or slightly shifted, causing this issue.

Hey OP was this ever solved? I'm having the same issue with a 2019 TRD OR. Seems like it's just not catching but can't get it to stick.
