N2 Designs 2016-2022 Tacoma 3x OEM FOB Plug n Play Remote Starter Kit (AT & MT) + Smart Module

Some of you have great ideas but I would need to setup a FaceTime interview and quiz before I decide to sell these to some folks plug n play can be a lot to handle for some...I need to make sure my instructions are as clear as an ikea chair assembly so I don’t get
this time.

 

INTRODUCING PLUG N PLAY KIT FOR BASE MODEL (NON PUSH TO START, NON HKEY) Regular Key - Without an OEM FOB Long Range (half mile), 2-Way Feedback (Audible and LED Indicator Feedback to FOB indicating successful lock/unlock/start/stop engine) Remote Power Door Locks w/ Remote Start Kit:

Operation

• This Kit gives you a FOB that allows for remote power door locks to lock and unlock, Start Engine, Stop Engine.
• Kit includes (2) FOBs that have 4 buttons, one to lock doors, unlock doors, start engine, stop engine.
• FOB also allows for remote hazard lights to come on remotely by holding down the "Lock" button for 3 seconds.
• FOBs are LONG RANGE (half mile) with two way LED light and audible indication that the lock, unlock, start engine or stop engine were successful.
• Smart phone app controlled module to do all of the above, including GPS locate compatible (sold separately)
• Parking Lights will illuminate
• Run Time is 15 minutes (No options for other run times)
• All doors, and hood must be closed

Special Notes

• Vehicle will NOT shut off when a door is opened.
• You will be able to get into the vehicle after a remote start, put the key into the ingition, turn the igition two clicks to ON position, tap the brake pedal, and now your key is in control and you can drive off!

Good morning from Pennsylvania, while I read our next winter storm warning on the weather app I can't help but anticipate the nice warm truck I'll have once I install the remote starter and smart module. I was just wondering if you received all the parts and would be sending out the tracking #'s pretty soon.

Hey Jimmy,
I just noticed CL6 released an update to IOS app version. Do you know if the "bugs/fixes" resolves the remote app features some of us have been experiencing? I'm out of town so I won't be able to test till I get home tomorrow evening.

 

She's alive!! The replacement module Jimmy sent me works perfectly!! The harness was replaced too just in case. I'll be sending back the original module and harness so Jimmy can dissect it and figure out what the issue was.

My unit was installed, removed, reprogrammed, etc. There was no indication (e.g. during programming) that anything was wrong. But when I went to remote start, then truck would turn on the engine and then immediately shut it off, like it was sending a kill signal moments after ignition.

I went from a frustrated installer, to an expert installer. I've installed and removed the kit so many times I could probably do it blindfolded just by feeling around (well, except the programming part where I need to see the lights...LOL).

 

Supposed to be an over the air fix for the 4g units. So I think this is just app enhancements.

 

Agreed.. but wondering if they provided an update to the module at the same time they updated the IOS app.. Crossing fingers..

 

No, I have been working with them over the last 4 weeks and my users still have not beta tested the fix yet.

Got my replacement unit last night...the wife waited to tell me until 8pm because she "wanted to spend time together" whatever that means. Anyway I had a red light upon plugging in the unit, I think it was New Years day, and Jimmy responded and called me even though he was on vacation. Wiring loom and module sent back and just got in the new unit that I will install tonight, perfect timing too because we hit a cold snap it was -8 last night. After watching vidya's and previous install start/stop I estimate a 20 minute install and that will mostly be me trying to find my prying tools. Thanks for the help and support Jimmy

Hey Jay, looking through the thread I couldn't find an answer to this (maybe I didn't look well enough.)

For a H-key/MT, is there any way the vehicle could be accidentally started in gear? Or will the vehicle kick out of reservation mode if you put it into that mode and then put the vehicle in gear?

 

Thanks! Seems pretty foolproof and people aren't having issues. But my habit pattern is to shift to first and I wouldn't want to mess up when my mind is on something else. I would ask please don't try it in a garage! If the clutch cancel is activated I could see that going poorly
