I found some semi rough ST Forrest roads and some 1/2 paved roads to check out the durobumps at 35-45mph, very smooth ride.

What setting do you run your kings at?

 

Glad to hear man, my hope was it removed all the rumours and hearsay of the bedsides being "bolt on." I tell ya man, the wifey is a tough critic.

 

They went on fine, drill some holes, use some nuts/bolts and some zip ties .

The advanced fiberglass lined right up and had zero issues with fitment. We'll see how the front goes, that's usually worse

What did you do for a fuel neck extension?

 

I still need to do my fuel neck as I didnt take care of that before doing my rear LT. I bought the 4runner fuel neck piece, but looking back I would have just cut the hoses and extended them with some clamps. Only reason why I havnt done that is I think I need to tighten my gas lines by the gas tank regardless so I might as well just swap it when I get the time later on.

Yea its crazy how many little things get in the way of getting the stock bedsides off. Does it feel weird having the rear done, but not the front? The front will depend on how shaped you want it. I took a dremel and just slowly buzzed my fenders around the light area. FIRST THING Before trying to take off your fenders is go to Toyota and get someone to remove the antenna base with a Toyota Key. Not all dealerships have them amazingly so its better to call and talk to a tech prior. Then you can unbolt the rest of it.

This is a general breakdown of the fender install:
1. Open hood.
2. Insert the fenders and let them overhang from the engine bay.
3. Line up the top corners of the fenders closest to the windshield and align them based off the distance to the front edge of the doors for proper clearance. Open and close the doors a few times before moving on.
4. Drill a hole in the glass once you are satisfied and bolt it to one of the existing holes towards the windshield area as you do not want this end to shift while trimming or else you could end up having to remove way more material than needed.
5. Close your hood slowly so its still unlocked, but down so you can straighten the front of the fenders to maintain the fender/hood gaps.
6. Once satisfied, test fit the hood by opening and closing it slowly to verify the gap is good. Might not be a bad idea to use some painters tape to keep the fender relatively fixed for now.
7. Put in your lights and you will likely see right away what glass is in the way of a good fit. They should be about 85-90% there depending on the manufacturer and the mold it came from. ADV glass is arguably one of the best fits since they refresh their molds relatively often.
8. Try putting in your grill and see if it can fit with the lights in the fenders...many times its a tight fit, but can be done. Now starts the cutting.
9. You will likely be moving your lights in and out constantly to verify the fit and so its good to keep them as loosely fastened as needed.
10. Trim, check, repeat...at some point many come to some compromise as it can take a long time to get everything down to the exact science. Mine arnt perfect, but after 2.5 hours I called it good.
11. The filler pieces under the lights arnt easy to deal with. You have to pretty much trim the fender lip just enough to have tension, but not destroy the glass everytime. Many consider drilling a bolt for this and then keep it clipped towards the outer end. When I went wheeling one time I hit a huge puddle and lost one of the inserts. After that I gave up on mine entirely.

Expect 2-3 hours to get both sides good with trimming. I know buyobuyo took a whole weekend and still wasnt satisfied with his fender install, so its all relative.

Rears are 20/08 with a flutter and 200# of gas. That's a little harsh for my current leaf pack, but I think about right once the new one gets here. If not I'll drop it to 18/08.

Fronts are 15/12 (I think, haven't been opened yet) and 175#. I'm going to make the front a non-linear valve stack with a flutter, probably keep the gas about the same though.

 

Borrowed a 35 from @fatfurious2 to see how it looks. Still lots of room, maybe need to go bigger...
