    The gadget in the OP has served me well. Bought it about 10 yrs. ago and it's doing fine. I've siphoned oil a few times and many on an Isuzu Rodeo that did not have a transmission drain plug. Saved me from a Dexron shower when I pulled the tranny pan.
    Useful for siphoning brake/power steering fluid reservoirs. Turkey basters die a fast death when exposed to chemicals. Seal is eaten quickly by whatever chemical they are sucking out.
    The one car I used it on a couple of times for oil extraction was a Mercedes gas car. The first time I did that, I got down below to pull the engine oil drain plug after the extraction was done. There was about 2 oz. of oil left in the bottom of the engine. Results will vary with engine/pan designs.

    x 2. And with even a stock lift, I can use a cheap bucket to catch the oil which is easier to deal with than the short pans. I put down a piece of old cardboard to catch splashes and make it easier to roll and slide under the truck. Car is about 6 inches off ground, so even with ramps, it is not fun.

    Nope. I'd be willing to bet if you did this then just out of curiosity removed the drain plug oil would still come out. This isn't going to get all the old oil out.

    Why would you want to put clean oil in with contaminated oil?

    The dealerships and repair shops do have these. They just don't use them for oil changes. Probably for a good reason.

    Typically they use them to bleed brakes

    Our shop uses them to empty fluid out of transmission cores before they are sent back to the factory.

    A few.
    I like the idea of the Fumoto valve, what with after market skid plates and all. If there weren't for 11 bolts and the use of a floor jack required for removal, I'd stay with the old fashioned way. But the front four bolts are a challenge to install and remove on my APEX bumper.

    Update:
    First oil change with the Fumoto today, and I'm quite pleased with this product. I simply installed the tube, flipped the lever and walked away. No skid plate removal, no floor jack, no worries! While the oil was draining I slid the pan under the filter and changed it, then flushed the engine. Less than half an hour for the process, it took longer to go to Auto Zone to buy supplies and recycle the old.

    On a side note the folks at AZ said that was the cleanest used oil they had seen in some time.

    I use the extractor on my wife's van and plan to use it on my PRO, which should be in this week. Makes oil changes fast and easy and gets 99% of oil out. Fumoto valves work awesome well as i have used them on my other past cars but the extractor is awesome. I need to find the info on the easy oil change for the oil filter as well as I saw someone replace it after the first time with a valve for no mess either.

    They're great for extracting fluids from diffs and such when the drain plug is stuck.

    Used a friends MightyVac for the first time this weekend for an oil change on a Volvo, 7.8 quarts. Wasn't that impressed. Cleaning the tubes afterwards, so oil doesn't get everywhere, was more work than doing an oil change the traditional way. Nice idea, has its place for sure, but I'm good...I'll do it the old fashion way and use that time to do a general undercarriage inspection every 5,000 miles.

    Be lazy and spend 80 bucks on a tool I don’t need, or take out my drain plug for free

    I don’t clean the tube i put paper towel in it so nothing comes out and put back in box. I can do an oil change within 10 min
