Wondering if only Top Tier gas has been used but not saying that could be an issue.

Especially telling these "wild stories/causes" to women, who some of them automatically assume, are mechanically incompetent. This really happens a lot -they just tell them BS to get them out the door - not thinking they tell this BS to their Hubby or male SO.

That's all well and good, except...do you want someone too stupid to conduct a proper diagnostic evaluation of the issue wrenching on your vehicle?
The CPS issue is well known, any dealership/service writer/technician not aware of it would not instill confidence in me.

I would hope the initial diagnosis was a guess and whoever is the one fixing it will find the real issue.

Toyota of Knoxville...... where I bought the truck. After this might start using a different dealership.... neither is close (30 miles or more) or convenient.......

No, usually what’s least expensive and convenient.... same as I used in my 3 previous vehicles (All FJ cruisers) with zero issues.....

So true, and thankful I have a little knowledge on mechanics. (Many years ago I was also a service advisor.) My “buddy” at toyota was obviously uncomfortable with my questions about the validity of six fuel injectors all going bad at the same time with no previous issues.....

Toyota recommends Top Tier for this truck. It has more detergent added.

    A quote from Toyota:
Which octane fuel is right for my Toyota model?
Because virtually all Toyota models are built to be distributed on the consumer class, the recommended octane rating for each vehicle that you own is 87. However, you’re still able to upgrade every once in a while if you’re looking for a bit better gas mileage or performance!

I just add a scoop of Tide to my cheap gas.

IF it was 6 bad fuel injectors, I'd be worried that something in the gas caused the failure or there is an electrical issue.

I wonder if they tested the injectors to confirm?

I think people are confusing top tier fuel with premium fuel. Pretty much all gasoline sold in the states is top tier.

Yes top tier does not indicate premium, if it did it would list a minimum octane raiting.

After going to toptiergas.com I found that about 1/2 of the stations in the Chicago area had the extra additives.

Ok, finally got word my truck is ready. Was also texted a copy of the invoice. The codes listed are:
P020113, P020313. also there was a 415 but not sure what that is.... will be going to pick it up shortly.
