Fuck this grill. Set at 250* and it’s at 83* this is beyond fucked. I don’t think I’m even going to bother waiting for that probe to come in

That was my first one. It spiked to 400+ this is my second one. Had these same issues with my last smoke too. Had a couple people tell me to try the initial firing (set to high run for hour) again. And then try smoking again. Did the firing on Sunday. Now smoking been having the same issues. Up to 300+ degrees down to less than 200 while set at 250. It’s now at 75 degrees and not doing anything. I’m fed up with this shit. If I can’t get it to get going in the next 5 mins I’m taking the butt out and putting it in the oven and taking this shit back to Costco and never buying anything Traeger again.

I’ll put my reputation out there and say the BEST baked potato I’ve had was cooked in an air fryer.

Lightly coat in olive oil, sprinkle some sea salt or kosher on it. 400* for 15-20 minutes, probe for doneness. Comes out fluffy inside and crispy skin.

Take that sucker back to Costco! Bad batch from factory maybe?

I bought a Green Mountain Grill Daniel Boone with WiFi on their Black Friday sale...was too good a deal to pass up. The control board on my GMG lets me change temps in 1º increments...not those 25º knob turns like that Traeger.

Great. Somehow it just caught fire. Grill is off. Letting the fire die and the smoke stop and it’s going in the oven. Should I just keep in oven at 250* until I hit my desired temp?

wow, maybe its because its from Costco? Most people dont have that much trouble. A friend of mine was going to get a traeger but it was too much so he got a Pit boss and loves it. Cheaper than a Traeger but similar design.

Can’t imagine why buying from Costco would Make it any less of a Traeger. I don’t know but I’m returning it and never buying anything from Traeger again.

But with everything else it's been doing...deep down inside you knew it was coming. Should've at least had the GoPro on it.

Wow that’s crap man. What caught fire? Only time I’ve had an issue like that was when the fire pot overloaded after the flame went out (was my fault for not cleaning it out). Sounds like they put out a crap batch.

Did you see flames? That looks like the fire pot started again and had way too many pellets in it.

Realizing I am not a smoke master, but knowing a thing or two about electronics.... it has GOT to be the controller. I bet money it's a bad solder joint on the board. Is that accessible? There are lots of problems with consumer goods since they went to the ROHS lead-free solder. Google "tin whiskers" to get an idea of what I mean.

well I dont know about Costco but its like this at Walmart...they buy 100,000 guns from a company and get a cheaper price, and cheaper sometimes inferior product...yet it still the reputable company name. I know for a fact they do this with Remington.
