You ain’t the first of us and won’t be the last of us to have a cook go south. If we can’t laugh about it then the alternative involves lots of cussing and possibly firearms.

 

What else can you do beside laugh haha. It’s honesty comical how shit of an experience I’ve had with this grill

 

I'm partial to explosives and whiskey...which are even less advised.

 

Shit, if this thing didn’t cost as much as it did it sure as shit would be coming to the desert with me and getting a bunch of new air flow holes!

Don’t feel bad, I had a 100lbs of greasy Pittsburg links on a stick burner and it flamed up. Volunteer fire department had to put it out

 

Well.... Since Traeger is now officially on my donezo list, I'm taking recommendations for a new pellet pooper in the $300 range! Ready, Go!

I dont have personal experience with the Pit boss but my friend does and Ive had some pork loin he cooked on his pit boss and it was really good. He did say it takes a little bit to warm up but if you are cooking a porkshoulder or whatever its going to take a good while to cook anyhow so I dont think the warm up time is too big of a deal breaker.

 

As long as it actually works and doesn't overfeed the hotpot and then reignite an entire hotpots worth of pellets and cause a mini explosion, I'll take it!

 

That rust bucket in the middle? It used to be beautifully powder coated like that keg smoker in front of it. That was before some smoldering coals caught a little oxygen, the lid fell off, and the whole thing engulfed in flames. Fire Department came and put that out, too.



Shit happens. At least @uhplifted gets to blame Traeger. I had no recourse when explaining it to the wife.
