Superbumps it is.

 

here's the update.... check out my math at the end, technically i lowered my total amount by $3k + buying it back and now have a car that needs nothing other than oil changes and filters for another 110k miles oh and some $330 michelins from costco.

i'm trying to make it to where having a wreck worked in my favor, i expect insurance to rise about 20% or so just guessing. Currently sitting around $1100 every 6 months with truck and car with 50/250 deductibles.

I used Wheelers kit with 99-07 Silverado factory replacement bumps from O’Reiley’s

 

Hey wire gurus! Wiring up my replacement tag lights on the bumper. Correct me if I’m wrong. But the white wire with black stripe is the ground correct? Seeing it is the same in both lights? I know the run different wires to keep track of them so the green and blue should be the hot wires, correct?

 

I would say yes. Mainly because I just replaced my foglights and white/black was ground for those. You can always grab a volt meter and do a quick check to be sure

 

How'd you mount those bumpstops?

 

There is a little lip on the Wheeler plates that will catch the bump if it’s mounted on the stock bump contact point. Saved a boatload. I think the bumps were $50 Like this.

 

Right on. I like that. I may go this route instead. I'm trying to do this U bolt flip so its compatible with the Chevy leaves I'll be swapping in hopefully in the near future.

 

I'm about to order rotors/pads/maybe calipers? for my 4runner. Recommendations?

 

if you are staying stock am-autoparts.com is where I got mine and they have a 10 year warranty and seems like I got new front rotors, pads and rear shoes for like $140 shipped or something

Yeah the stuff is way cheaper than anything else from my experience. I got read shocks for jess' rav4 for like $40 (for 2) shipped. And everything has lined up right for me so I say its ok

 

do you have a recommendation on brand to avoid or to get?

if you feel like searching with me it's a 1998 4Runner Limited 4WD with 16" wheels.

I've always heard to steer clear of cheap drilled/slotted rotors but nothing other than that really. Ill take a look and see what I can find but that Amazon looks like it'll be a hard price to beat

 

that's what I'm thinking, and I've heard of powerstop before and it has good reviews.
