Just got the word that my 2008 Tacoma failed frame inspection.
Anyone have any issues after the frame was replaced? Anything I should be forewarned about?
The only real thing I changed was adding a level kit to the front....and new rims and tires.
    Thanks so much!!!

It's kind of a hit and miss with some people.

Some have had small kinks afterwards (myself included), others have had a perfect outcome.

Take a look at a this page and a few pages back in the 2nd gen section and you'll see quite a few threads in the last few days/weeks going over the whole process.

    Good luck

@Iceangel311 I'll be following you now. I take my 06 in to the dealership this weekend. I'll keep you posted what they tell me in regards to extra charges. (I'm assuming mine will pass the frame inspection.)

No issues on mine. I upgraded the shocks, water pump, and some pulleys while it was off the frame. Of course I had 125k miles on it at the time. I'm at 192k miles now and still going strong.

Might be a good time to replace the cab mount bushings.

I purchased and brought them with me and there was zero charge for installation from my dealer.

@HankP Thanks. I'm asking as I take my truck in this weekend. I've got a hole next to the catalytic converter. I'm assuming it will pass, so do I buy the parts before I go in? Thank you! I definitely need LCAs I know, U joint, shocks desperately.

Definitely buy all the parts up front from any auto parts store. Because they wanted inflated prices for theirs. Since all the fluids have to be drained, like radiator, brakes, etc.. it was easy for them to access it all with the frame off. I had two giant, fist size holes in my frame. My truck is a truly Daily Driver and I purchased it in Jan '05. I love it and haven't found a need to upgrade. Rides great, and the only other maintenance I have had to do since the frame off is new calipers, and rotors up front. I was hoping to get to 200k before I had to do that...lol.

Thank you. I do no off roading at all, and only city driving. Is there a particular brand I should look for?

Damm I never thought about them . I just got mine back last Thursday and the only little issues i had so far was the tech never reconnected my hot wire to the battery for my heated seats and my baja design fog lights weren’t working. Turned out he didn’t push the jumper harness all the way in . Otherwise truck rides great

the only issue I had was they overtightened the tailgate plastic to reattach the bedrug and cracked the plastic. I didn't notice until it was too late. also, they overfilled most of my fluids.

They told me there were 3 people ahead of me but kept my truck at the dealership with a new taco sr5 as a lender. Waited about 15 days until I got my truck back. They are pretty quick

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe LCAs are included with the new frame.
