Hey head up to SA tomorrow. Need to take the truck to a dealership for them to check out my clutch, any recommendations on which one?

Whats wrong with the stock one? I recommend a URD stage 2 if you don't ever plan on going forced induction. Or stage 3 (like I have) if you ever plan to supercharge. Both should hold the power, but the stage 3 gives you a bit more head room.. If you need help changing it, I can help, I have tools. Just put one in my 6spd about two months ago

Also recommend the URD/PDM stainless steel sleeve for the quill that goes around the trans input shaft. The chirping of the TOB is often caused by the TOB being side loaded and then it riding on the quill sideways, causing it to chew grooves into the quill

I would choose north park, but that’s just due to knowing a couple of the techs there

I would personally avoid the dealer at all costs! (unless the truck is under warranty still, but they will likely say a clutch is a wear item if it's slipping, and wont cover it)

Yeah, it’s still under warranty... and I have asked a couple dealers about it before so I am hoping that the history of that will account for something. The clutch just doesn’t seem to catch very well and I can hear a significant change in noise when the clutch is in versus out. One dealership said the throw out bearing and others said they don’t hear shit so... idk wtf it is.

When you are cruising along at a lower speed, say 35-40mph, shift into 6th and floor it. If it lugs down, your pressure plate is still good. If the RPMs sky rocket and the truck doesn't accelerate, then the pressure plate needs replacing. I am thinking once you do this test, if the pressure plate is good, then the problem is likely the TOB. I have heard about the TOB being replaced under TSB's, so if a dealer thinks that's the issue and they want to fix it (under warranty/TSB), I say let em go for it. If it ends up being the pressure plate, its best to replace the TOB at the same time while you've got the tranny out. Either way, it's a relatively straight forward fix, just extremely labor intensive. But, if it does end up being the pressure plate and you want to try and tackle it yourself, I am down to help. Not a difficult job by any stretch just a lot of work

Here's a thread I made recently that shows everything that has to be done for a clutch and TOB replacement. It took me 23-25hrs total from start to finish..
