Bought 18 DCSB limited at end of year.

$42,287 sticker w/ all accessories (bed cover, remote start, shark boards, bed lights, vehicle protection, exhaust tip, mats, tailgate remote lock, hitch, tint, lugs, nitro = stuff didn’t need but great features)
    - 21k trade (which was NADA trade estimate)
    + 16.5k cash
+ dealer threw in WTech mats

So paid 37.5k out the door for new loaded out limited. MS has .05% tax, so really paid 36.7k before tax. My truck needed tires/windshield, so helped justify deal by avoiding those costs. Drove 2 hrs after doing deal by phone but worth it b/c local dealer only offered 17k for trade and only $1500 off DCSB sticker. I paid about 5k below MSRP out the door = about 13% off. Decent deal?

I have an offer for the following:
2019 TRDOR 4X4 DCSB AT with Tech, Premium Package W/ moonroof, WT mats and exhaust tip for 41,000 OTD. the dealer also has about $900 dollars worth of addons included but they are small things that I don't really want but they will not remove.

truck in AZ and sales tax is a little under 8%

    Thoughts?

These prices, BLOW MY MIND!!! who the hell can afford to buy these new Tacoma's. Doctors, Lawyers,Drug Dealers? They've become way over priced for your average working stiff, and yet I see these new trucks daily while out and about. I'll drive my 1st gen until the wheels fall off, and the engine completely dies. There is no way I could pay $500 or $600 dollars a month for a vehicle. ABSURD.

You don't have to buy a top of the line model version. IMO these trucks give you value for the price. I paid $24.5 for mine with a few added options already installed. (Convenience package, appearance package, all weather mats, sill protectors)

There's no way to tell anyone what their "OTD" price should be. Sales taxes vary from state to state as do registration fees.

Look at the bottom of that ad and notice the KBB pricing wheel. That gives you a guide to selling prices from your area. As you can see, the dealer's $36,000 ask is at the top of the high end. KBB seems to say a 'fair price' is $31,500.

What would worry me more than a price, is why someone got rid of a nice looking truck after only 3900 miles?
Get the VIN and have it run through Toyota's system for its service history. There's a number of reasons why someone would sell or trade a brand new vehicle, like if they lost their job, but I'd be concerned that a 'lemon' is always lurking. See the thread here on TW "When do you cut bait?"

The number I posted was a quick quote off of KBB for the zip code the truck is located in.

Very fair, I should have just have asked what you should have paid.

The CarFax is clean on it, and I just drove it and there were no issues. However, it's too easy for them to hide something from me. But no diff noises, transmission issues (manual) 4x4 and 4lo worked well as well as rear locker. Must've shifted in and out over 30 times.

I will have to go in to negotiate.
