I got the bumper on but am not happy with the result. I cut the bedside on the same plane as the top of the bed, and it created a huge gap. Apparently CBI didn't build the bumper straight on the sides. Luckily I think I can slot out the mounting holes on the bumper enough to bring the wrap around portion up and fill the gap. They also didn't give me enough of that edge trim stuff to completely cover the cut edge. Anyone know what size edge trim CBI sends? Going to see if I can get some more.

Its hard to tell but your cut looks pretty darn close to mine...the bumper is way off though (see pic below). Have you contacted them to see if they would give you some sort of credit towards that? Maybe send you another trim molding too while they're at it (I actually didn't get one with my bumper).

Glad you have a plan to slot the mounting holes. I'm going to have to readjust my bumper after slamming it on a ledge this past Saturday...fun stuff!

You’re right, the cut on mine goes right to the bottom of that fender flare mounting hole just like on your cut. I may give them a call tomorrow to inform them about this, see if they will send me some of that trim, and try to talk them into giving me some free ditch light brackets for the hassle.

Yeah man, these bumpers cost a pretty penny, I'd definitely ask for some sort of compensation. Have them send you several extra trim pieces this way I can get one too...lol.

Your cut looks to me like it rises in comparison to the body line. The bumper actually lines up really well with the line in the body.

There's almost a dip where the body line starts (near the tail light) that needs to be taken into consideration. Looking at it more, I agree with @cazinpa

You could possibly take more off of the corners (not the most accurate but you get the idea):
    upload_2019-1-8_16-53-24.jpg

I'd probably go this route since the top of the bumper does look parallel to the top of your bedside. It doesn't hurt to have more gap either. In fact, I'm thinking of taking mine up a little bit.

Looks like the bumper just needs angled a bit. You don't want it too tight or it'll rub during offroading.

Also just go to parts store and look for "wheel trim" or fender trim. It's like 8 bucks.

Plugged cat. I wonder if that is my problem. Lucky for me..I can just gut it to try ha

I can’t remember the exact measurement, but I think I cut 18.5” down from the top of the bed all the way across the bedside. I even went back after realizing I had an issue and the cuts were dead on at 18.5” all the way across the bedside. I think it’s that indent on the bedside that’s aimed slightly downhill that makes the cut look like it’s not right. Also, my cut ends right at the bottom of the fender flare clip just like yours.

I looked under the truck to checkout the new Magnaflow cats that were installed and found this gap between two flanges. I tried tightening it down but it won't budge. Does anybody have an idea whats going on here?

I think so but it's hard to tell. The truck does seem louder than before.

You know, I was out in the garage this morning and I thought about this. I measured that body line on my bed, and sure enough it it about 1/2" higher in the rear!

I'd say you measured right. Something does look a little off on your corner though.

I noticed that one of the stock skid plate mounts had ripped off my truck after a night of wheeling. Went to fix it and found the other skid plate mount holding on by a thread. Got them welded back on hopefully better than the stock welds.

    Screen Shot 2019-01-13 at 7.26.08 PM.jpg

Also, after going mid travel, my LCA's were getting into my skid plate at full droop. I notched the skid plate out so they have plenty of clearance now. RIP powdercoat.

On my way home last night the truck suddenly sputtered, threw a flashing check engine light, and then just shut off in the middle of the highway. After getting a tow home, I scanned the truck and got a P0351 code (Ignition Coil A Primary / Secondary Circuit). $85 and 10 mins of work later and the truck is up and running again. Very glad is was a somewhat cheap and simple problem.

I've been having nothing but bad luck with my truck lately...

I already made this a thread, ( https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/looking-for-help-with-p0351-code.587556/ ) but figured I would post in here as well to hopefully get as much help as possible figure out this gremlin.

A few days ago my truck threw the p0351 code (Ignition Coil A Primary / Secondary Circut). The truck would idle fine, but would die right after shifting it into gear. I replaced the Ignition coil A and the truck drove fine for two days. I just went to move the truck today and the code came back on. Once again, the truck idles fine but dies as soon as it's shifted into gear. In addition to this, one of my LED headlights turned blue, and some valve under the passenger side dash started making noise and the arm is slowly moving back and forth.

Could be a bad part that you got the other day? I’d take it back and get a new one.

What kinda noise does that valve make and how did you fix it?
