I don’t have the electric lock on the tailgate, had to install the pop and lock in my 19.

Who wants a water damaged vehicle, I wouldn't. I bought a Subaru in 2016, test drove one for about 50 miles, testing acceleration, braking, cornering, etc. Brought it back to dealer, and purchased a different one saying that the one I test drove wasn't properly broken in for the first 50 miles and didn't want to take my chances. They weren't happy, but either sell me the one I want, or lose out on a sale all together.

I think the trade in is good. You could probably get them down on the price if that was their starting offer. If you were going to do it, now would be the time to do it because you are probably at maximum age to dollar trade in ratio. This isn't a case of spending $12K more on top of what you have. That $12K is offset by the fact that you have been driving the current truck for the past two years. Essentially you are probably close to what you would have paid lease wise for a 2 year lease with a down payment for 24k miles, maybe a little ahead.

It should really come down to if you need the extra cab space and don't mind. It is also easier to sell a double cab later on down the road if that is a consideration.

Keep it and don’t add 2 additional years to your payments...of course the dealer is going to make a boatload off of that deal...be wise...

There is literally nothing in an '18 or '19 worth trading a '17 for. It's the same truck with some irritating new nanny doodads and a few color options.

If you want a DC, I suppose you can make the argument to yourself but I would not trade/buy from the same dealer without a very deep discount since they are going to make money on both ends of that deal. Sell it privately, then go shopping. But, mostly... don't unless you are so flush with cash to pay for it that you don't care because you are going to take a beating either way.

    1. This is one heck of an expensive free oil change.

    2. Definitely do it.
