    Have a 17 Pro I put 285/75-16 on. Debating on which would help better the OV tune or regear to 4.88. I commute 40 miles daily and live near the mountains so that’s a weekly adventure. On Istate I’m mostly running in 4th with all the hills and sometimes hit 5 but very rarely do I run in 6th. @ 70ish I’m @ 2100ish in 5th. 70 on dash is 72 gps. Eventually I want to do both but unless everyone pitches in a $1 one will be awhile

    Steel and 37s
    Just read that post, and I’m not sure about it. I’m on 35s, have steel skids, and bumpers, with no tune or gear ratio change. I live in CO and frequently drive high elevation mountain passes (10,000+ feet) and my gas mileage typically stays above 17mpg, and I do not feel that my truck is less powerful than my 94 v6 was. I plan to do both, but a regear is higher on my to do list. I guess it all comes down to driving style

    My biggest complaint is it staying in 4th 90% of the time

    5.29’s* not 4.88. I would go 4.88 if I was on stock tires on the automatic

    It’s one I built. Square tubing turned on edge. They are stupid tough. This ones got a couple deer under it’s belt with no damage yet

    No coming back from the regear, at least not in a fiscally responsible way. Something to ponder if you're someone who doesn't keep vehicles long term.

    With ov tune, you can easily go back to stock tires or smaller tires without much issues .

    Wise words. I’m content with 265/70/17. Never gave me any issues out on the trails. Other than looks, it performs above my expectations.

    You run 35's on stock gears, with steel skids/bumpers, at that altitude and get 17mpg??? :crazy:

    With 33s, skids, sliders and some bed stuff, I'm getting ~18mpg on my mainly flat highway commute to work with stock gears and a ov tune. Going up any mountain passes or hilly highways kills that down though.
