Anyone on here ever used raptor liner? The clear coat on my truck is flanking (especially the roof) and it has a bunch of dents and deep scratches that go down into the paint. I can't justify getting a new paint job only to scratch and ding it up more on the trails but I also can't stand to see the shitty paint on the truck. What are yall thoughts.

My plan in that case was to Line-X the whole thing. It ain't cheap, but it will definitely last. And you could even get a different color if you didn't want black.

Down side is that you can’t touch up line-x and when it lifts from the body, it traps water underneath.

This is the color I'm thinking of going with.495862-7fa95e47e0e03a3938b0cf0a74d87525.jpg

The reason I'm not thinking linex is because that shit is rock hard and hurts like hell when you scrap up against it.
We had them on all the work trucks at my old job and we beat the shit out of those beds. Like just throwing sharp rough cut pices of steel off sissor lifts with no fucks givin. Scraping 3000lb+ leveler against it when setting then on the flatbed. Really testing that coating. Sweep it off and it's like nothing ever happened. But when your elbow scraped against it, it was taking skin with it.

I rock interlux roll on boat paint on my Tacoma that has held up super well to bent sheet metal, trees, etc. Really cheap and easy to apply too

My buddy has premium line-x (basically line-x with a glaze of clear coat over it) and it's more in between satin/shiny and it's slick as hell. He also used to spray Raptor, but it kinda looks cheap IMO, like Monstaliner. Something about it just doesn't look right to me.

    Kinda like plastidip
    :anonymous:
Linex is also a little out of the price I wanna pay for a old beat up taco. I haven't ever seen rhino line or monstaliner in person only pics online and that doesn't really show much.

All my armor is Line-X'ed and none of it is quite that rough. It's definitely not smooth though haha

All my armor does have the UV Protection applied to it, which does add a slight gloss and smoothes it out a bit I'd bet.

Yeah that's the toughest bit. Line-X is expensive no matter how you look at it.

    Weekend Trip, January 11-13 -Windrock.

Stay at Lilly Pad Brewery Friday night. Saturday morning head to Windrock and wheel all day and either stay at campground at Windrock if they have spots or stay at Lilly Pad again.

We’ll loosely plan to stick with Green and Blues. There’ll be plenty of opportunities for those wanting to hit some blacks or x2 blacks too.

Lilly Pad Campground cost $5 per person per night, but they have beer and live music. It’s a pretty cool place.

Windrock Campground cost $16 per night per site for two people. I’ve never camped there. It’d be nice to be able to finish wheeling and be close to camp, take a shower, and lay back and chill with some lemonade.

    —————————-

Planning to camp at Lilly Pad Friday the 11th. No set time to be at the brewery, just whenever everyone gets there and we’ll plan to eat at the brewery. Wake up on Saturday, eat breakfast and head to Windrock. Not sure the exact time but I’m betting it’ll be around 10-ish at the general store, unless we make a concerted effort to get up earlier. Plan to ride the trails all day, maybe into the evening so we can all use our lights. I think most everyone will want to head home from there, if not we could camp at Windrock or drive back to Lilly Pad to stay there again.

Shit I was involved in a car accident on the way home tonight in the Highlander. Low speed, no airbags, but the front axle came loose/was damaged. And I only had liability on it because it's a 2004. I need to get it out of the tow yard, and I can't bring it to my apartment building. Anyone know of an auto body place in Nashville that they would recommend? Or any other ideas?

I'd pay a few grand to get it back up and drivable, No clue how much it will take though. No leaking fluids that I could tell, just some body damage and that front wheel/axle/suspension.

I plan on using Monstaliner this year in my Jeep and then on my truck I like the colors. I can get close enough that I don’t have to worry about door jams. It can be rolled on or gravity sprayed and it come out in two different patterns.

Fix the mechanical stuff yourself. The take it to Peanut in Ashland. He does good work for a good price. My sis is a horrible driver and has wrecked ever car she has owned. Peanut always makes it look new again and comes in cheaper than the insurance quote everytime.

I've looked at monetaliner but I like the fact that I can get whatever color I want in raptor liner and it comes with the sprayer in the kit.

Maybe my old boss got an extra coat or something out on it because that stuff was really rough.

I'd love to, but I can't park it at my building if it's inoperable. Says so right in my lease unfortunately. I'll give them a call tomorrow and get a quote! Much appreciated.

I know they can apply a rougher or smoother coating if you request it. They can even do completely smooth. You're welcome to grope my truck next time if you want to check it out. Feels rough, but not damaging.
