I asked Phil about this prior to ordering. He was very confident that the 1/8" could handle our hail. Todd would be able to answer this as he has owned his Drifter a while now and sure has been in hail here. I was really more concerned with the van cover, but Phil was sure it was robust enough too.

I’m more impressed he got up there without taking out his rad. ;)

You mind posting a photo of your truck with the deavers, curious to see how it sits. Do you have alot of rake with the rear higher than the front? I am ordering my deavers tomorrow, planning to go stage 2 as I will not carry a ton of gear with me. Drifter coming this month!

My truck sits almost perfectly level with a 2-3" lift, can't recall the stock measurements

What are you carrying for gear? Armor? Bumpers? I'd steer clear of stage II and go Stage III at a minimum. Honestly I would just get a custom tuned leaf pack, from them. The cost for me was actually less then the Expedition pack and i got more capacity.

Pic I will get when it is sunny out. It is currently 4:30 pm and dark here in the far north. It doesn't get light until about 9:00am'ish.

Apologies there is enough light outside right now! And no i did not back into that power plugin stand. Although it looks like it.

Truck is 2-3” lift and has 34x10.5” tyres

Sits almost perfectly level, maybe 1” max btw front an rear.

@aaen Are you using the gutter from alu-cab to seal the rear gap between the awning and the Drifter? Phil told me of this product as I have the same awning for my build and it looks like the top latches may be in the way.

nope, you have a rear door to act as your gutter. Never understood the point of it. Mine is installed fairly close to the canopy wall as it is. You could bolt it up flush and there would be no issues on the side.

you will get some drips off the door hinge though, but i rarely put the darn awning out in rainy weather. Usually it's blowing as well and it just ends up keeping your head dry for me. Depends though.

Washington does a bunch of stuff....

Pre-spray aka "brine" before it snows/ices up.
Solid de-icing chemicals after there's already coverage on the roadway to keep snow loose and plowable as well as melting.

Most vehicles are made with a protective under coating that helps the vehicle resist damage and corrosion. WSDOT continues to strongly recommend drivers who drive on roads treated with anti-icer wash their vehicles to prevent build-up.

Yup I am in a lot harsher road conditions, the brines are typically just salt brines, up here the road salts, have calcium/magnesium chlorides(hence why they are poisonous to doggies), etc in them which make them a lot more effective. Brines are rarely used in most cold climates(edit, this is false it is used in some areas, cities, etc as they are more effective, probably due to the residual heat and salt savings), although they have tried everything from beet juice to god only knows what else. Really they are only effective to about -15 C or about 0 F.

I'll be doing a detailed cleanup of the drifter come spring time to remove the oxidization, maybe I will post up before and after results, hmm.
