Well, yeah, I flew in the pre-handheld internet days, so this was your only source of info, and you needed to update these at least every year. I think you would just get the updated pages, not the entire thing.

But I would say if you don't at least carry one of these and paper nav charts with you, you're a little TOO dependant on electronics, and kind of a moron, lol. Tablets are cool and all, but a hard copy backup is always recommended!

I always carried it with me, even though I had forms that I would fill out with comm freqs stuff. If I had to divert to an unplanned airport, you'd need that to find the info you need.

I stopped because I ran out of money, lol I got an inheritance from my grandmother that paid for it, and when that ran out, so did my lessons. Was a shame, I was really close to my license. All I needed was to take the written and the check ride. I had already done all my soloing and cross country flights.

Had a feeling, if you constantly carried weight they’re good.

    How long ago was this?

Could you ever finish where you left off? Very interesting.

Is it a common turbo cause if so I'd just get a rebuilt one and use yours as a core. If it's kinda rare then I'd find someone local most of the ship it places are spendy

    Pretty common, yeah.

I got a quote for a $350 rebuild including return shipping.

I can get a rebuilt for $500 or new for $750. Or a new stage 1 for $1250 :bananadead:

    1998...

You have to fly for at least 30-60 minutes a month to stay current for day/night flying. After 20 years though, I think I'd pretty much have to start over. They probably even have different log books now so I wouldn't be able to continue with mine.

Oh well... I've been following this guy Trent Palmer on Youtube to scratch my flying itch. He flies this cool kit plane that he converted into a back country bush plane. He's got a friend who flies this weird turbine Wilga (Polish STOL plane) that rips on 35" tires. It's insane.

I also have some R/C planes (that have been collecting dust lately) I can fly to scratch the itch.

Maybe I should just go new and keep mine and rebuild it or sell it as a core.

The new one from Amazon does not require a core

Like a stock truck mostly. I keep 10-15 pounds in them all the time to account for the canopy and it does good. Jack it up to about 30-40 when I got my motorcycle or camping gear in the back. Once you find out optimum psi for the specific load you have you basically just keep stock ride quality no matter the weight. IMG_2570.jpg

The camper was definitely noticed though. It took 65-70 psi to feel good. max is 100

No they void your warranty and they didn't have good reviews. Ive honesty flexed my truck out to the max with the bags and they still had a little play in them. Anytime I flex out I usually get out and check the bags and all the suspension to make sure nothing is wearing out.
