One of my favorite things to do is actually to bring my A4 clone and shoot my 8" steels between the various distances working on hold-unders. Since those irons use a 25/300 zero its got a nice arc to work with. Shooting the aimpoint rifles and magnified stuff isnt as fulfilling.

Anyways, looks like my spot is a no-go if @2BeersPlease wasnt even able to make it close*. The spot itself is off the fireroad and has a little cilmb that might not be doable, wish i had a junker truck to send it. Might leave the rifles at home and just enjoy sleeping in the snow. (Or stay home and stay warm :anonymous:)

That sounds boring. Except the warm part. And camping in the snow. Bring guns and git-sum...i just ordered goodies.

hmm. the weather seems to keep looking worse for this weekend. I already took Friday off to go camping and wheeling. Just dont know where I should go. Dont want to get caught in deep snow. dont mind it if its not coming down too hard.

Ha, of course i meant a budget built AR that resembles an M16A4 for nostalgic purposes. (except obviously without the shitty 3 round burst or glorious select fire)

but if i won the lotto....

    http://www.platinumfighters.com/ta-4j-skyhawk

well if i won the lotto id pickup the F4 they have listed because, why subsonic when for only double the price you can double the speed.

F4!? Bah. The plane that proved that given enough thrust, you could make a brick fly.

Now, if you were talking F4U, I'd be on board.

Not a wheeling trip... or an F4... but staying on the USS Hornet overnight was cool AF!

One of our mechanics is a volunteer on the Hornet. I want the “behind the scenes” tour. Those are best.

Just go and enlist, then you'll be able to live on it and grand tour almost the entire ship. Like I did!

Did you get the ghost tour?

Born and raised in Alameda. Base closed in 97, my sophomore year in hs. We ‘explored’ a bunch of wharehouses and buildings. Creepy AF. I pretty much hated being in there LOL.

I was the groundskeeper for the O’club on base working for the city around 2005. I hated going in that building. Story was more than a few officers blew their brains out there. Same day I found a lady who committed suicide in the parking lot I had to go in the O’club to take a shit. Only one in the building and all the toilets started flushing  Pretty sure I made it outside before my pants were up LOL

I had a pool service with a buddy and the city had us work on getting the filters running after a decade of not... so many dead bird skeletons were in there. More than once we came in and swore a few were in new orientations

So yeah, base can be creepy

Ate at the O'club and got to fly out of the base out to the Farallon Islands as a squadron was heading back out to their carrier.

That was an incredibly eye opening tour as was the U505 in Chicago. Balls of steel and definitely not claustrophobic.

Not military related but "ghost" related.

My work recently moved to another warehouse. When our old warehouse was being constructed the was two electricians pulling wire up on a scissor lift and the wire had gotten caught on the lift and it ended up knocking it over. One guy died at the scene and the other in the hospital a short time after.

Working around the back people would always get a weird feeling. And that's before we would tell them someone died there.

Anyways, I work graveyard with one mechanic and one operator at the time. A lot of the times I was working by myself on one side of the plant. We had motion censored light that would turn off after a certain time.

What freaked me out was that after the lights turned off in the back of the plant, some times they would turn on one by one along the back wall as if someone was walking back there. I would radio the other mechanic and he wouldn't be anywhere near there.

We need to wear Hi-Viz vest for work. And a lot of the fork lift drivers (that drive along the back constantly) would say they see someone walking by behind them in their mirrors (a guy without a vest on) but when they stop to tell the guy he couldn't be walking back there, they wouldn't see anyone.

I never saw anything besides the lights coming on or hearing foot steps but I was curious what the "ghost" looked like. Nothing crazy happened to me but it was always interesting how everyone always had similar encounters.

Story time over. Carry on. :alien:
