Amazing. That's something I want to try. Do you have an resources for source material on the netting?

I've got it down to a science now, after doing it for so long. I've got good jigs and have made or modified machines to speed up build time. Depending on the size, it takes anywhere from 75-120 minutes start to finish.

It opened in my iBooks. It showed a great size comparison, or so I thought.

Also, I personally would be scared :censored:less to bring the Cup out on the water.

    Nice work!

Poly finishes aren’t the best if you’re going to actually use it as a cutting board. Being a film finish, once you start cutting on it you’ll break the film layer and you could get flakes of the finish in whatever you’re cutting. It also makes a passage for water to get under the finish and start to lift it. If you use an oil finish it’s easy to touch up by giving it a light sand and applying another coat of oil.

No, but I have drawn inspiration via other benches that I've seen over time. It started via an idea and what I envisioned to a base print which I then began formulating dimensions, etc. Completing the main structure is my primary focus rather than fighting my way through doing everything at once. All the bells and whistles can be done later. This allows me some flexibility in case things change and I decide to go a different route.

General Finishes makes a "salad bowl finish" which is a non-toxic (when fully cured) oil finish. I use it on all my cutting boards.

I use it also. And mineral oil can be used in a pinch.

On an end grain cutting board, i thin it about 50/50 with mineral spirits. That allows it to soak down in deep. I add a few coats this way and then finish up with a full strength coat on the cutting board.
