the biggest problem is everyone uses their truck differently. Some want fuel economy. some don't care. some want low RPMs cruising, some want more RPMs. some are stock, some have larger tires, some are heavily modified. everyone has different habits and expectations and one map can't won't fit all.

its been said many times that 1.05 is the baseline starting point and then it can be modified from there. you have to have a solid foundation before you start customizing.

I mean, 90% are already happy. You just don't see them in here.
I am one of the 90%. With that being said, I do agree that having some additional tunes at everyone's access that, have stronger tip in, full ect, etc etc, is a very good idea, and will keep an additional 9% happy.
Then there is the 1% that will never be happy with a tacoma, and are driving the wrong vehicle.

When I bought the truck I was on 04B02. I Added a lift and 33s. Gearing went from meh to shitty. Transmission programming always sucked. I just left it in S4 w/ ECT on constantly.

Along comes 04B04. Much smoother shifts. Less having to stab the throttle in increments to drive 'normal'. Still drive in S4 but not needing ECT. If I'm cruising at 70-75+ Then I'll switch to S5 and put up with the dead feeling. I did start noticing engine knock so I switched from 87 to 91 and ended up with better mileage.

Flashed 1.05-91 last night and drove 6ft ;).
    Initial impressions driving in D.
This feels like TSB part II, The power mod.

Much improvement going forward from a stop. Pulling into traffic used to get exciting.

More shifting improvements. 1-3 feels right. Something transmission related is happening in the 45-53ish mph mark that it loses a bit of acceleration. Surely exaggerated by my larger wheels. There is more power down low so it's less of an issue lugging around. I'm curious what a plot of Rate of acceleration vs. MPH would show. NOTE: This issue always happened in factory tunes. It's less now.

After a few more inches of driving I did notice the coasting feel the truck has when coming to a stop. Not something I had an issue with before but I'm fine with the new behavior.

I still think mechanically the gearing is an issue. If it was a manual I'd replace 5th and 6th to make them closer to the other gears. That's not an option so I see 4.88s or 5.29s in my future.

I like this idea. I don't mind higher RPMs. After the MT guys get their bottle though. :D

I've been very happy with the results of the tune relative to any OEM versions (including TSB). I feel like the money
I spent on the tune was well worth it. Yet, I still waffle back and forth on whether or not I'm good with how my truck
drives, some days, I'm fairly happy, other days not so much (and it often depends on the type of driving I do that day).

My point is, I think I may be in the 1%...and if that is the case, there is no point in "complaining" to @OVTune about the
things I don't like with the tune...cause I may just be complaining about the truck. I think some people need to recognize that they may also be a 1% and just deal with it, that this truck will never fully satisfy you and just drive it as is or move on. The tune really is great...but I don't think it's a panacea for all that ails this trucks drivetrain and it never will be...that will probably be the TT...

What I am seeing are all minor complaint's about drive-ability based based off of personal preference. To the 1% out there that are complaining.... "throw another mattress on it Princess" and get in line for a custom tune when that is offered.

Is anyone selling their shift sense pro V2? I'm in the market. There must be people out there that had the SSP then purchased tune and don't need the SSP anymore! PM me. I don't think the tune works as good on my truck compared to others'

When I bought this truck it ran so poorly I was ready to take it back after a week. However,if when I bought the truck,it ran like it does now on 1.05/91 would I think the same thing? Heck no! I’d be happy as hell.
I paid $300 or something like it for a Bully Dog tune for my Tundra. It did very little if anything. Can you complain to them? Sure, but does it do any good? They could care less.

Finally my review of 1.05 ( I flashed late ) this is after a full tank of gas and I'm sure it will change a little. I noticed the top end is still changing. To sum it up I have no more clunk coming to a stop. I love how it doesnt have to shift as much, I have same tires as test truck Matt's. Through town I have to look down and slow down lol it just goes now. At first i was worried about the top end, it started out weak until about quarter tank left. Now its like a bat out of hell. Ect is just nuts. Definitely saving that for towing or I I'm near the payload limit. I didnt really gain that much mpg but I am putting my foot into it for more smiles. If anything I would guess .5 to 1. Still curious what it will get during the summer. Definitely an improvement over 1.04 for me, see you guys in a year lol

I don't want to and don't plan to provide multiple versions of 1.05.

I'm having a difficult time understanding what's difficult to understand that the point of 1.05 is 1.05 + customization / options.

People want to go backwards to 1.03, you want shift senses controllers, etc...instead of having the tune modified the way you want, which was the point of 1.05. We started with 1.05 : fix low rpm response, fix higher gears, fix as many "bugs" as we can, clean up, rewrite, control, fix shifting. Then modify as required from that point.

Our hope with 1.05 was to make a good starting point that most people would be happy with, and customize from that point for trucks that needed it. Not go backwards...

It's not like customization was some big surprise...

Okay thanks, didn't know if there was a quicker way. Asked for it a few days back but my email must have gotten burried. I'll just sit tight.

Uneterstandable. Thank you for your hard work.

I just ask, since you mentioned that MT also have some type of shift mapping per gear, that we can get a little love as well. I know you have some MT people helping with that, so thank you to those special secret peeps. Keep up the good work.

ETA? I promise you we won’t bitch about the shifting or be hemorrhoids like what has been observed in here over the last week or so.
