For the best ride on a vehicle that’s mostly street and no high speed Wheeling is spring rate. I run lighter springs than most. 550lb 14” because I’m 2WD. If you’re 2WD I’d consider 500 or 550. I’m even thinking about dropping to a 500 myself. You want the spring to just hold the vehicle up and the shock to do all the work.

You also want to have a threaded shaft. That’ll give you the most adjustability.

I’m leaning towards black just because my paint is not pretty as is and matching would be a pain like you said. I’ll prolly end up using rustoleum truck bed paint.

Like the desert sand on the new Tacoma’s? That could be a possibility. I might have to check out that photo shop thread when I have a better picture.

Not THAT bad looking. For me it was bad from the side. Too bulky for the size of these trucks. and now the side profile is so much nicer looking. WHere I live yeah definitely could use some front protection, but would rather go with a nice offroad bumper if anything in future.

Pretty inaccurate... Idk its weird. Sometimes it'll read well for a few hours then just drop off for a few days. I just picked it up a few weeks ago and the PO said "under a half tank it works and the gas light still comes on"... But sometimes it just dies on me and drops to empty. Seems to be when it gets really cold.

My main concern is I'm trying to take it on some pretty extensive road/overlanding trips out in BFE and it'd be nice to know what the exact fuel level is. Thinking I'm going to have to replace the sending unit.. I can still drive without running out of gas but its more annoying than anything.

...We'd spent a good amount of time on this canyon crossing and we had a way to go before we reached the Grand Bench. Our discussion now - given the clearly impending rain and weather warnings on the ham radio - was about whether we wanted to camp at Grand Bench or try to make it out and back through this section of trail before the ground was saturated.

Ultimately, we decided that either way we were going to Grand Bench, and that we better get on it. So we did.

Read what happened, and check out some crazy photos: F.U.Rain Day 8 - The Grand Bench is a Grand Mess

Safelite just finished up installing a new windshield. Woo. It had a bunch of nicks and small cracks. One crack last week decided to travel the length of the windshield.

Probably worth it to note that the urethane rubber takes about 48 hrs to set up halfway so I wouldn't go wheeling for at least a week after a windshield replacement
