Bungie's Destiny

Ok, I just watched the gameplay walk through for Anthem. Now I have to go to Gamestop and pre-order at lunch. THAT looks like my kind of game!

 

I just ordered it from PSN. It's a game that I think I'm going to play and with the preorder you get early access to the game in Jan and then there is an open access in Feb. before it comes out.

 

The only physical copy I have purchased in a while is God of War -- love the game, but knew it wouldn't have much replay value for me, and wanted to pass it off to my daughter. My daughters may actually play Anthem, so they will need their own copies.

 

OOOOH, didnt think of that. I'll order it tonight when I log on.

 

I got to admit man, damn if that isnt some really sad shit. I wonder if activision views bungie's progress in any way like how the consumer does where they are like "why arnt they talking about something cool or productive? Oh wait, our business strategy just has these stupid balls....lets hope the public doesnt realize it."

 

They were on holiday break, TWAB comes back the 10th. Doesn't change their suckage level.

 

I don't know what their thinking is anymore. And honestly, I'm at the point I don't care.

If I were in the place that Bungie is in at the moment... Holiday break would be on the back burner. They haven't put out anything meaningful in a while now. The fact that they didn't put out anything at all over the holidays makes it even worse. But then again... I go back to the same thing. There isn't anything to talk about with the game.

I watched a little bit of Fireteam chat on IGN and they are struggling with topics to talk about. "What are you chasing right now?" "Oh... I'm just chasing a title in game" "Oh nice! How long do you think it will take to get it?" "Well... I've got Dregen so far but I'm working on Cursebreaker at the moment" "Nice man... I hope you get it". That's about how the show went down.

Just fucking cancel it. No one cares anymore.

Does it show that much lol? Yeah... I'm fucking bitter at this game that I put 4+ years of my life into.

 

Haha just a little, honestly man I think you would be able to really give Destiny fans some credible podcasts if you were to even make a video of your thoughts. You are the full circle of this game, as much as I want D to go down...kind of sad to see you move on from it.

 

I would be drowned out by the chorus of discord with everyone else talking about the game and would just be repeating everything that most everyone else is already saying.

I hate leaving but when you have no desire to log into the game anymore it just is what it is. I'll miss playing with all the people that I spent so much time in the game with and that is the hardest part about leaving. We had a lot of good times in the game. But I just can't bring myself to do the same shit over and over. This is the first time that I have actually been the first to leave something that I have invested so much time in. I've only been able to convince a few of my clan mates to come over and try Warframe. The rest are sitting stagnate in Destiny because it's what they know. There are only three raid runs put up on our 100.io page and only one is full. They won't get it done judging from those that have signed up so there is no one left in the clan running anything anymore. That's what it has come down too. There used to be pages of runs on the clan page and now there are only three (with only one full). The clan will slowly fade away from existence as people move on to other games or other clans. My main two friends are chasing Luna's Howl but assuming they get it then what? I've got it and the Redrix and still have no desire to play. But I can't convince them to come try Warframe.

One thing I can say about Destiny is... I got everything out of the game that I could. There isn't anything that I wasn't able to accomplish in the game. I've completed every raid (up to this point), went Flawless eight times in D1 and eight times in D2, got every pinnacle weapon there was to get, and have gotten every exotic locked behind every quest. There is literally nothing I haven't done in this game. So I can live with that.

I'll stick with Warframe and Anthem when it comes out. I've got hope for Anthem but if it turns out to be less than I was expecting I still have Warframe to fall back on. I still have so much to learn in Warframe that it will keep me occupied for a very, very long time.

Yea man there is some closure and achieving everything you wanted to get. For me, Im excited about Ace combat 7 cause I love flying games and resident evil 2! I dont think I will ever get into warframe, but it does sound like it has alot of substance. I bet your clan will eventually consider other options if the game continues to go to nothing.

This is what I mean when I say that there is no RNG involved with Warframe. The Warframe app shows alerts when new alerts come up in game. They come up about every 15 mins and stay up for 30 mins to an hour. They tell you exactly what you are going to get if you complete that event and they show up on your phone about 5 mins before they actually show up in game so you know what is coming. I woke up this morning and saw that a helmet was coming up for Rhino and it had about 15 mins left until the event was over. So I logged in and completed the event.
Side note... you don't have to complete the event before the time runs out. You just have to log into that event before the timer expires. So say that there is 5 mins before the event goes away, you just have to log into that even before it goes away. As long as you are in that event you will get that item.

So I got my helmet and now I'm crafting it. No fucking RNG involved at all. This is a helmet that you can actually spend real world money on in the game but DE also puts it in the game for you to earn for free. This is how you make a free to play game work so well. When a developer cares this much about the player base that they are willing to put item in game that they actually sell in game for you to earn? That is how you do it.
