Most civilians don’t have the benefit of an employer provided first aid, hands on training, nor periodic refreshers.

And please don’t use a tourniquet if someone rolls their truck and splits their head open.

You might not ever use the first aid training, a fire extinguisher, or half the recovery gear we carry. That’s OK.

Knowledge is never a bad thing, and calling first aid classes a “waste of money” is shameful.

There's some people I wouldn't mind using a tourniquet for bloody nose

You can have them if you need them.

I’m interested, but need to finish my bumper stuff first.

Well i hope someone would not wrap a tourniquet around someones neck, unless you are trying to murder that person... haha.

I would say that some "technique" is probably needed to be taught so that you do not further the injury. Also need to be aware of blood born illnesses...

Honestly im just curious as to what they are to to teach @ETXTacoma over a 2 day class. And since @ETXTacoma got his tent he has gone into full overland mode! haha. jk bro

The CLS classes I teach are around 8 hours. They don’t cover everything, but enough to delay (preventable) death until I can get there. I cover TQ usage, quick clot gauze, trauma bandages, various airway adjuncts, CPR, and when to use/not use each. How to spot and treat/prevent hot/cold weather injuries.
    Didactic and hands on.

If the group is motivated to learn, you can do a lot in two days.

Yeah but this is a wilderness first aid class, what is different from that class and the one you teach. Is it just the ABCs? (airway, breathing, circulation)... also I thought google was the way to go.... haha jk

And i agree that knowledge is power.

These are not the newest style, so I don’t think they were classified hvy/light, but they do not have the add a leaf as I never felt I needed it

The Irving location is having 105.3 the fan broadcasting that day, and will accept reservations for 10 or greater. Maybe @Suprajim54 can give details on the location, I’ve never been to that one.

I don’t think there’s one in Arlington. Irving is in the middle of the two, just don’t know much about that location. You just picking random spots lmao.
