You really want a bolt action if you are considering longer ranges and better accuracy.

My new property down near Grant (Marshall County). My first double (large spike about 0700 and then caught 4 does trying to sneak around behind me at 0800 or so). Also my first kills with my .308 Kimber. Note: Berger 168 grain bullets are better for big game animals not small does. Made a good shot but baseball sized hole on the other side. Humane but messy.

Hit 1000yds and got bored. It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. Id have to look in my log book but I think it was around 450rds. $1700 with the scope. $1100 without scope and rings.

I switched to my .243 now for deer hunting. Single shot EMF with a scope and a tack driver. Gets the job done. AR10 is bodacious for SHTF situations. Much better than 5.56.

I've got an original H&K 91 Preban before they stopped selling them to civilians especially in the US. Bought new for $800 in 1986 or so. Just checked Gunbroker and around $3200-$3500 now plus I have original claw mount and multiple accessories to include folding stock. Very nice looking rifle and would expect you to be able to reach out to 1600 without any issues. What kind of suppressor?

My .243 just has a Tasco White Stag for about the same price but never had any issues. Do you get consistent grouping or all over the place?

Ill go out one time and they are consistent, the next they are all off the place. More times than not it is just a spray. The tighter groupings prolly have more to do with me trying to compensate while I shoot.

After all this time, I finally got a spare tire mounted that matches my current tire size. A buddy of mine was getting rid of an old set of 33's from his 4runner the other day. @stronghammer I'll be making a tire carrier similar to yours for my truck now that the tire won't look out of place. I'll be making some improvements this time though.

Get the bore sight case. Match up your cross hairs at 25' at the range. Shoot it a few times and see if scope is still aligned. If not it is either loose screw/s or scope has issues.
