Yes, parts of State are furloughed as well. Non essential personnel have been furloughed since the beginning. Which is why I might be affected because the non essential personnel are not around to give us funding. However, I just found out we have been given funding until the end of the month in hopes everything is sorted out by then. Damn. Got my hopes up for an extended RR that doesn't seem likely now.

Those traffic jams are mostly caused by lack of VDOT treating the road, and 18 wheeler's not obeying hours and sleeping while driving.

 

Yeah, I'm not exactly a happy camper about that considering I live right off of I-81 and travel to Winchester quite frequently. The only thing turning the VA stretch of 81 into a toll road will do is create even more backups and infrastructural strains on other primary routes ie: RT. 11...

I noticed the other day that a flag outside a business on 301 was at half mast while I was heading to AP Hill the other day.

I'm down for standing meets. 3rd Thursday looks like it matches up with most of my off Fridays, so that will make it easier for me to make the meets.
