That's music to my ears. I'm up in Raleigh with a new 2019 TRD Offroad longbed looking to build something that works well with those KB mounts and a retractable cover. My issue is that I also need mounting points on the sides of the rack for other gear, such as rotopax, hi-lift, bicycles, etc. Maybe we can figure something out.

I’m just down the road in Charleston, but I don’t think I’d get the use out of that rack that it deserves.

I’m trying to get a cab height rack that works with a Extang solid fold and allows the tonneau to open. I like the RTT height but I want a rack that I can haul kayaks with one weekend and maybe an RTT the next.

Nice work on your products, they look great.

Shouldn't be a problem, I can put any type of mounts anywhere you need them. Each one is built to the needs of the owner.

Have you seen how softoppers are mounted and possibly have any ideas on a rack that can support a RTT that would go above the softopper?

Based off my little research and just the design of the softopper mounting, im thinking it would have to be mounted to a steel bumper in the back and maybe rock sliders towards the cab

I made these to put one under a softopper. I don't have a local truck to measure and test fit a rack over the topper. Are you near Charlotte?

Actually, I have something already drawn up, but, wasnt for a taco, was for a frontier... and wasnt for a softtopper.

You could certainly use the rails, I intend to.

@RickyTaco77 good looking work... If only you were closer.....

I just jumped in this thread, and though I am not local, I'd be up for a roadtrip! I like your work. I'd be interested in the feasibility of a cab-height rack able to mount kayaks and/or bikes, but has the capacity for quick-disconnect mounts. If I want to have it up for a while, take it down for a bit, put it back up, etc. is that possible, or is it something that needs to be permanent?

Looking thru this thread, I'm not local either, but I would also entertain the idea of a rack that goes over a soft topper.

The only thing that makes me nervous is that rack would be pretty tall, and may not fit rack + RTT in my garage, especially once I'm lifted with larger tires. I'll have to measure twice just to be safe.

    Building one over the topper
The rack can be removed in a few minutes, I can build it with mounting wherever you like. I use Trick tabs for accessory mounts and they can be put anywhere for lights, shovels or anything. As long as I have the bolt pattern to whatever accessories you want to put on the rack I'll weld flush mount tabs on for you.

We had a roof top tent on it and no problems. I'll probably get another this spring, I loved it.
