    Yawn...
And here I thought humidity control was only needed for acoustics...

More important for acoustics, but electrics can get fret ends poking out if the neck gets too dry.

I decided my EPI Les Paul needed a sweet soul sister. Played one of the new player series MIM strats last weekend. Really loved the action, and the satin finish modern “C” neck. The Alnico 5 single coils sound awesome. I ordered an aged cherry burst the next morning. I had a hard time putting it down tonight after our first date!
The action, and intonation were spot on, right out of the box. Much better than my EPI LP was.
    That Fender chime, tho...

Right. I mean it's already $300 off new. I don't mind maybe coming off another $25, but damn.

Just spent some more money on my rig. I love the single coil sound from my new strat. I did notice that due to the pickups not being as powerful as my LPs humbuckers, I wasn’t getting the same juicy overdrive from my maxon od808 as I do on my LP. (Not a huge fan of my amp’s crunch tone)
I worked some overtime last Saturday to buy a fulltone Robin Trower overdrive. So, the recipe for complete tonal bliss, and sustain for days is...

    Strat >maxon od808 >fulltone RTO >VHT special 6 ultra

Yeah, mild single coils into a Maxon808 can sound weak. Now, if you double up with Two Maxon 808s on a warm single coil pickup, then you're getting into good territory :)

I flipped all my gear years ago and wound up with a 3-pickup Nashville Tele, a Maxon 808, and a Fender Hot Rod Deville. I was really bummed with how mild the Tex-Mex pickup combination worked with the Maxon 808, after reading such good things about both. I was playing garage rock at the time, and the gear didn't do it. It would be a great setup for what I like to play now (warm, reverberated, mellow surf).

Looking for a guitar with a round 7.5" radius, super narrow neck width, overall small/slim neck profile, and small vintage frets. All I can find that fits the bill is a squire classic vibe telecaster, but I want something higher quality. Fender doesn't seem to make anything like this anymore. Fender used to have their "vintage" series, but no longer.

    Anything else come to mind?

Not sure what the specs are on a G&L asat bluesboy, but you might look into it.
