iirc the antenna was $9 on Amazon, package of 2. I gave the extra 1 to a friend. That antenna is longer than the 1 that comes on the wifi model.
Just drill a 1/4 inch? hole below the hopper, front or back and hook up the wire. I did it without a F'up, so it must be easy.

I can guide you if you need help. I'm an excellent driver. ;)
Somewhere back in this thread is the post about how to do it.

Didn't mess with my warranty. In fact, I called CS after installing the antenna. I was trying to update the firmware, but it kept failing. CS had me try again while on the phone, then said the controller must be bad, sent me a new 1. It did the same thing. Called back, he had me use my wife's phone as a hotspot. Ding!
The update is done thru your home router, turns out my router does not play well with others. And now I have a spare controller.

I'll say this once more. Their CS is top notch.

One more thing.... warranty is 3 years on GMG. I still have over a year left.
Dunno what the warranty is on those other poopers.

Good deal, I know some companies can be stupid about things like that.

    GMG:
turn on power switch, push up button once
go back inside, connect to GMG wifi, open GMG app
    have a drink
    set temp with app
phone beeps when temp is reached
put meat on, plug in food temp probe if required
monitor grill and food temps on app
    have a drinks
set timers on app if I remember to
wander outside to smell that wonderful aroma, and to check if the house is on fire
    have a drinkss
phone beeps, food is ready, turn temp down with app
careful of the steps on the porch, bring food in, eat
    have a drinksss
grill temp below 300f, turn grill off with app, goes into fan mode
grill cools down, shuts off, red readout says off
neighbor drives by after dark, calls and says "whats that red light on your porch?"
    I mumble incoherently
next morning I shut off the power switch

And that my friends, is how easy it is to use a GMG grill. ;)
