I just realized this is not the ultimate third brake light thread lol. My bad! I was thinking you wanted to relocate it to up on the back of the cab

 

It would be so awesome if MESO can make it happen! The only reason I don't have a steel rear bumper yet is because I don't like any of the current BSM supporting bumpers, and I'd rather not lose BSM.

 

A drill and an angle grinder shouldn’t be too much work to add the option back. But then again 99% of bumper manufs say that their bumpers are up to the task that bsm is just silly. Well unless it’s a mall crawler.

 

The BSM anywhere near a place with kids is awesome. At least on mine. It’s warned me of incoming pedestrians before it would have been an issue, love the fallout but nothing to rely on. Must have for any vehicle imop.

 

I thought the BSM was for vehicles in your blind spot on? Now the parking sensors are nice to have for that reason.

 

The BSM also includes something called “rear cross traffic alert”. It expands coverage further to the sides than just the rear parking sensors alone. Basically you get more advance notice that something is coming. Very useful in crowded parking lots.

 

@mesojdm - any redeeming qualities to this "interesting" take? I can see where it is possibly salvageable, but not sure if up to the challenge.

Yes. I was more interested in the layout. Obviously some work... but, it's already blacked out, has clear shell and "May" be butyl sealed. Sure, all those silly dome LEDs would need to be "rethought". But it does have actual directional LEDs to deal with 90deg view.

Sure looks busy. Make me think of those Alteczza plague that took over the tuning scenes not too long ago.

The tails are more than likely welded together like stock and all other aftermarket lights.
As for the design, it’s pretty busy IMO. Only way I could think would be black out all the individual LEDs, and make the inner C bar red brake, and outer C bar turn signal.

No tails under the knife at the moment.
