It's the torque curve - and other things the OEM calibration messes with (like throttle). Tuned, you don't have to wind it out nearly as much (unless you're going for smiles/mile).

You can believe it or not, Mat will still be busy filling orders.

    Happy holidays

Don't own a taco yet, but after test driving it, I was sold on it.

Clutch reminds me of my Audi, and only issue I have is to get use to the rear drums, otherwise just gotta save before I can custom order my OR

Our Tacoma's stop in the same distance as a Colorado so there is nothing to really adjust to as far as brakes, it is a truck though and won't stop as short as your Audi.

I know, and I really can't speed anymore, so might as well start off reading

Shouldn't take too long to get acclimated now

I know, and after going Offroading in my gf's golf (only non Jeep/truck for the bonfire, friends didn't clarify it was deep in the woods, though it made it in the end w/out getting stuck), I definitely want to do it again, though in something built for it

If by remind you, you mean it has three pedals, sure. German clutches are sexual and I wasn’t worthy when I owned one.

Yeah, in fact, here's the mod list in a nutshell:

JHM St2 w/HPFP/LPFP, JHM HFC+B7 S4 FI Catback, JHM St1 Clutch/Flywheel, S4 Recaros, JHM Shift-Trio+Cross Rod, Bi-xenon Headlights, JOM Smoked Tail Lights, Sport Edition P3, Blizzaks (Forget which ones), Solo-werks S1 Coilovers

Fun car, though most people don't wanna ride with me since the exhaust is too loud (Didn't realize it at the time, type that you can hear coming a down the road) and needs something done since it feels a little loose at speeds (something with the left side), hence why I'm saving for both the truck and to fix it

Despite that, for an 12 yo car w/105k miles, solid as hell

I've got about 4k on mine, clutch and tranny are just starting to feel broken in. The engine is getting into a groove too, seeing slightly better mpgs

I'll be honest, until I drove a JL, I was more on the fence, but whereas the only thing I needed to get use to were the brakes on the Taco, the Jeep's clutch felt like I'd need a few days to get use to (More abrupt and catches higher up than I'm use to, as the only manuals I've owned were low catching Audi's)

Still wouldn't mind owning both, but if I had to get one first, be the Taco since I'm gonna need the utility it offers

Yup, seems to be quite a bit of self loathing on here.

Yeah, what a damn shame. Nothing's perfect, but why not focus on the positives?

I drove a JL as well, and between the price and Jeep's penchant for reliability.... Taco it is

One of my top 5 life regrets is not learning stick back when my dad still had his '98 beater Accord. No one I know has one and even if they did I wouldn't presume to just burn their clutch.

There’s gotta be a TW member in Ontario with another’s vehicle you couldn’t learn on. I’d ask in that forum. Well worth it.

You're probably right. I mean I know how to drive stick I'm just really shit at it.

Even if I was good at it though I'm not sure if I could give up the everyday convenience of the AT.

My first car was a 4 speed manual transmission, I took my Driver's test with it too heh that had to be the shortest driver's test in history <---- another story but only time I have trouble with driving is with those darn Automatic things that shift for you.... I Keep hitting the brake very hard and reaching for that shift lever that is not there.....and out the front window everyone else almost go'es
