well this ones got my head spinning.. maybe you guys can help me out..

Suppose i had a wheel 17x8.5 with a -6 offset and i added a 1.25” spacer to it for poke or stance.

Now let’s take a wheel 17x9 (with the same size tire) that had a -38 offset. Wouldn’t the poke or stance be very similar?

My math says yes: -38mm=1.49” plus the 1/2 inch in wheel width..

Help me out here.. i know someone has the formula or can steer me in the right direction

    Thanks

    They will sit pretty close.

1.25-inch wheel spacer is 32mm effectively, so a 17x8.5 ET-6 with 1.25" spacers effectively becomes 17x8.5 ET-38. If you account for the wheel width increase of a 17x9, the 17x9 ET-38 will sit 1/4" further out when compared to the 17x8 ET-38

So to answer your question, if it already hasn’t been or your still looking, I have 1.25” spacers on the stock rims and it’s not super aggressive but it is about an inch. I do plan to do more tho eventually. Also have a pic to give you some idea of what it looks like.
