I'm still on this page, but here's a thought. Certify as a Drone Pilot (FAA), and you can do surveying for home, real estate, solar, drive your truck. When the nice young kid came and did our house, we pestered him a lot! He invested about $2K in his drone and software/cameras -wants better, but it works. He was at the Alcoa plant doing tech maintenance for about 4 years, got laid off, and was out earning money within a month of getting his cards made and some contacts out. He said highest paid gig was doing a wedding in the hill country. Oh, he had a nice new Silverado, because he could afford a better vehicle!

 

I get 6 days off every other week, and this would make a good second income..

 

I have seriously considered it. Just wasn't in a rush this last year. Now that it's 2019, and my funds are much more controlled! But, if I am careful about earning, won't pay crap for taxes, so..... it's a we'll see. I will say he enjoyed it, pretty much set his schedule because he was always booked, and got enough repeat customers to be able to "control" the location pretty well. If I recall, we were on a Bastrop, Lockhart, Hays Co. day.
