Hello!

Welcome to the 2011 Barcelona Red Toyota Tacoma Sport build thread. My pockets aren't the biggest, so the build will be slow, but hopefully nothing short of amazing. This is my explorer and daily driver.

I have never owned a truck until 2018, which was a 2013 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner in the same color. I went on a road trip to Estes Park and camped in the mountains with some friends. That experience told me that I definitely wanted 4WD for my future adventures, so I ended up trading that truck in 4 months later for the current Taco. Near identical miles, so not a bad trade off.

I am no mechanic and have no knowledge of Toyota trucks/trucks in general, but I have great friends that I've met through Tacomaworld that have been teaching me quite a bit of great stuff. Shout out to the 2Fang Engineering crew where most of my work on the truck takes place. @Sociopenguin and @Slashaar

2013 PreRunner to 2011 Sport 4x4. I regret tinting the PreRunner.. (good money for good tint)

This is my PreRunner in Estes Park. Looks just like my sport.

The 2 trucks were almost identical in mileage too. Not a bad trade in at all.

Fellow taco bro is my roommate. We are planning a trip to FJ Summit 2019 and MOAB 2019.

Yeah, I don't think my boss is gonna let me outta here for that..

 

Just have him bring it into the shop for a 'parts order'.

 

Putting everything together for Sunday.

This cabrac came with black spacers. Score! All the ones I've seen were chrome or silver. Glad for the black.

One of the cross bars was not powder coated black, but that's fine with me. I used it as the support for the wind deflector. Not sure if other folks Prinsu's came like that too.

 

I have a spare black cross bar if you wanna use it. I put a single row on the rear of mine to keep front contacting my shark fin...

 

May be interested in using another one for the very back.

After a snowy weekend, got together with some Taco bros and installed my Prinsu that I received earlier this week.

Attempting hole punches instead of chopping weather stripping. Enjoying some local Boulevard beers that are out of this world.


Hard to get these punches straight. If I had to redo it, I would use bigger than 3/4 hole punch.
