I deal with numerous insurance companies on a daily basis. First off Make sure you're getting all possible discounts with whatever company you have.

Paperless discount, Snapshot (other companies call it something different monitors driving with device or cell app), homeowner/renter discount or multi policy, safe driver, education level or degree, ss# if prompted but not required, paying in full also drives down the premium.

Shop around some companies can be 100's less/more it also doesn't hurt to try your local independent agent as the companies they offer will give you a lower rate vs you going directly with that same company.

very much depends on state and county.

City zips will drive higher rates.

    I think i'm at $60 monthly for Full coverage 250/500 comp/colis

That would be like comparing apples to oranges. Insurance costs is all about risk, the risk you pose to the company should a claim have to be filed. Age, driving record, where you live geographically and then where you live within that region. Different companies will have their own risk experience too which is where you'll potentially save $$ as one company may have better risk experience than another. Best suggestion would be to shop around and see what happens.

Correct. It is all about risk and so many factors play into the final $$ for you. All I can say for myself is that I am a father and husband in his mid 40s that has a clean record with no accidents. I use an Insurance Broker and he has gone back to Erie Insurance the years I have had him 'run the numbers'

Isn't insurance quite dependent on the coverage(s) you select?

I'm in NH, use Liberty Mutual, which gives us a discount for multiple policies (home, life, auto), paperless, etc. We have a $500 deductible, and relatively high liability coverages, and my tacoma is just under $700 a year. I'm also just about to turn 47 years old, have a virtually clean driving record (no relevant tickets or accidents). I also did a program where Liberty Mutual gave me something to plug into my wife's and my vehicles for 3 months that tracked some driving stats... adn we got another 7% discount (I think it was around that percentage).

Not sure your life situation (family, home owner, etc), but my insurance rep contacted me a couple years ago when he noticed my premiums were getting pretty high (and I was on the verge of shopping around). couplign an umbrella policy along with home and auto brought all my premiums down.

Where you live and drive the truck has a lot to do with what you pay independent of other factors. Moving from FL to TN my auto insurance is almost 50% less.

I'm with Progressive...truck, bike, and house. I'm paying $100.06 a month for the truck.

I almost shit when I found out how expensive insurance was when I moved from Cincinnati to Florida in 2001.

2018 Tacoma Off-road and a 2017 Honda HRV with full coverage, the high numbers not the state min crap and we pay $1000 a year. I’d say without looking my truck is $600 of it. Erie insurance and every quote I get to compare is always way higher.

Also, here’s a way to reduce your premiums. Every year or two call around and get a new quote for your truck it’ll always be lower because it’s older (as long as you didn’t get any tickets or claims). Call your current insurance and tell them to match new lover rate.

Insurance companies make a killing charging you the same rate for 5-10 straight years while your vehicle is worth less every year.

I use Ameriprise(Costco insurance) with another vehicle and my taco and pay roughly 200 dollars a YEAR or about 16.67 a month for the Tacoma.

Clean driving record, AGE 24 in California.

This is for FULL COVERAGE with a 1500 dollar deductible.

Hmmm, sorry but I have trouble believing you only pay $16.67 a month for coverage at your age. That wouldn't even cover just liability coverage.

I have a second gen with High mileage, that may have something to do with it. Pay roughly 1100 a year with my accord being 900 a year.

I got reamed by my company. I used to have a great rate on my dodge, less than 50 per month. But then they raised it when I bought my 16 (understandable), and they raised it again when I moved from Houston to DFW, claiming that DFW poses higher risk (I disagreed with that one, I don't live in Dallas). Then they raised it by a lot when I bought my 18, their explanation was "well, the 2018 has a lot of safety features that the '16 was not equipped with, and we found that those sensors are much more expensive to repair."

I cancelled them and quoted another company. Old policy would have been $1460 per year, now I'm paying $760 for better coverage, same deductible. $63 per month. I agree with the person above that recommends quoting every year.
