I saw they had the 2019 Voodoo blue on their lot in manual. Cheapest price I’ve seen so far. It was $44,500. The black must have a couple of add ons. The Voodoo was sold to a guy in Illinois within a week according to one of the sales guys.

I wouldn’t have time for a project either. Love driving that thing.

My friends do something similar on manual for roll back. Manual definitely have some advantages and comes down to preference.

Works perfectly on my fj40 I have a throttle advance. Pull the nob next to the choke to the desired rpm, moter just sits right there. I even used it as cruse control on the way to Moab.

pro grille, raised vinyl "TACOMA" letters on tailgate, de-badged, tint, ARE truck cap, BFG KO2s waterport, vinyl Tacoma inserts in dash, red "TRD Engine"push button start, MTF!!!
    ECT button, nothing but love:burnrubber:

And yes, I love manuals. Not for hills and dramatic offroad situations. I LOVE it on the beach best. Hate it in traffic, love the buttery smooth transitions with the wife does down. But when I have kids in the back, I'm on a hill,off-road, and somebody has to pee, gimme that ECT button baby!!!

And I secretly want to drive a manual50% of the time. :anonymous:

    Work in progress...
LOL, my wife was looking for a Dodge Charger some years back. The salesman showed us a Dodge Magnum, station wagon. My wife and I stopped about 15 feet from the thing when we realized it was "the" car he was showing us. My youngest son, about 7 years old at the time, says "well, that sure doesn't look like a Charger." LOL, we still crack up about that...

I tried at least 4 dealers and a broker trying to get my off road red DCSB manual transmission with premium package. All failed. Several flat out lied.
Found Jim Hatas at Lassen Toyota in Oregon and he was able to get the exact truck I wanted. Couldn't be happier with the experience. Be patient and find a dealer that will help, it is possible.

That sucks man. I had one on order in Austin and happened to stumble across an autotrader ad for one at another dealership. I was lucky enough to be able to put a hold on it over the phone and go pick it up that day.

Why not special order the truck? I was able to get the exact truck I wanted shipped to my local dealership, just had to wait 3 months.

Sounds like the OP did special order it and the Dealer tried a bait and switch on him.

I even went to one dealer and the salesman did not know what a straight drive was!
Then I tried going through Costco asking for a V6 manual Double cab and then nut job at the dealer called me back with an access cab, 4 cylinder, automatic. I was so flabbergasted, this took 4 weeks to get a return call, I agreed to it if he would pull the 4 cylinder engine and tranny and install a 6 cylinder with a manual transmission. When he said he couldn’t do that I asked why he even called me!

I've been driving manuals all my life, including (among my favorites) a 1989 Toyota pickup 4x4. I still have a manual Golf R which I loooove, but a manual Taco? Naaah. It isn't exactly a "drivers car" to have it in manual. I'll take automatic in any truck any day. Sports car, different story, IMO.

Same. I've been driving manual cars (WRXs) all my life. Didn't hate driving the MT when I had my 2016 Taco. However, it just felt like a chore. Went with a auto on my Pro and couldn't be happier.

I test drove an auto 16, BORING. Bought a manual 17 with out a test drive.

The novelty wore off for me. "Cool, i'm shifting gears. Cool, I have to shift to first gear to get up a slight incline" rinse...repeat. With that said. Everyone has their own preference.

I personally don't see how driving a truck on a daily basis can be exciting (manual or auto), unless of course you're offroading or rock crawling. Even with sports cars, some days I wish they were automatic. I can only see that urge increasing by owning a manual truck. To each his own I guess.

I my daily commute is only 10-12 minutes, it’s not that the manual excites me, it’s how boring an auto is for me. In the rental we just had, automatic transmission, I was constantly screwing with all the knobs and tapping my hands on stuff, just wasn’t as “part” of the driving I guess. I only wish for an automatic on the long highway drives. I just hate that the manuals, once know as standard, are being made less and less.
