@CurtB @dan0mite when I flip the switch to the "on" position, it just beeps at me. Is this normal? I feel like it's probably just letting me know it's on and nothing is happening? I was going to check to see if I got a WiFi signal but the beep was too annoying. I'm also not ready to do the initial firing yet as I'm making sure everything is in proper place so I don't have any fuckups

edit: I think it's the low pellet sensor going off on me. I will fill her up and try again

Confirmed. It was the low pellet warning. Filled her up no more beeping.

I’m really sad. I really hope it has WiFi capabilities still! If not I’ll just have to wait a few months and then buy the WiFi controller for it I guess

Hold your phone right next to the controller, preferably without any metal between it and the phone. Literally a hand's width away.

How much of an add-on is that?

100 something. It’s about $10-20 more than if I had just purchased the WiFi model

Lid closed now. Time to burn her in at 350 for 30 mins. She is a thing of beauty!

Not too late for Rec Tec

Wonder if they stopped including the ability once they figured out people were adding the antenna on their own.

It’s quite possible. Once I do the burn in though and it’s all cooled down, I will open her up and look at the insides to see if the WiFi module is there or not.

Ya if it’s there you should see the connector for the antenna wire.

Either way, I already love this thing 100 times more than the Traeger. Everything about it just seems so much better. Definitely will be bummed if I can't do the $9 WiFi mod, but, I know I can upgrade just the controller down the line, and for now this is already a huge improvement. Can't wait for tomorrow. Going to make some burgers as @CurtB suggested

    Keep reading :boink:

From my understanding though, you're supposed to get to 150* first with the lid open, then you can close and set temp, is this right?

Outside of the fact that it hasn’t exploded yet. What’s better about it? I’m going to be looking for a new one in the next year so may as well start my homework again. I like the Pitts & Spitts but one you add the $300 WiFi it’s going to cost me $3k.
