Yea the bumper cut has happened to a few people I know. Acetone takes off the print so they erase it and just tell the cop that the safety must have not been properly but in the computer and they left the paper work at home. Happens all the time all the cops can do is give them a fix it ticket. But it’s mostly for when they are parked on the street the don’t get a ticket just from the look and see cops. They also take registration stickers too. I like NY’s the best safety and registration sticker is on lower driver side inside windshield

That's Texas too. Leaves a mess once you replace it though...

Same with Pennsylvania, at least with the inspection stickers. Pennsylvania did away with registration stickers in 2017, and the registration is kept in the glovebox along with proof of insurance.

I am glad I don't have to deal with Safety or Emissions Testing here, used to hate it in PA.

As of right now, I have a "Don't touch my truck if you like eating solid food" security system. In almost a decade I have never had to use it.

Seriously though, I have a base model RC with a very nice aftermarket sound system. I live in a nice neighborhood and I am not worried about my truck actually being stolen. It would be more to scare off people who attempt to break into my truck I also work at a bar on weekends and I'd like an alarm system that will go off if drunk people lean against my truck. NOTE: On Thanksgiving Ever last year, I was taking a snack break in my truck during a 12-hour shift at said bar, and a drunk college kid was taking a piss just steps from my truck (I caught it on dashcam).

So, what brands of alarm systems to the people of TW recommend? And should I get remote start too?

Also, a lot of the alarm systems I'm looking at (Clifford, Viper) seem to be made for vehicles with power locks. My Tacoma, again, is a base model. Does this matter?!?!

Don't get an alarm system that sensitive. I hate mine, and will take it to turn it off completely. Mine has the annoying beep and alarm if it goes off. I suppressed the noise level by taping a towel into the alarm horn.

In all seriousness, it's rather annoying. Dropping your tailgate makes it go off.

Yep. You said "I'd like an alarm system that will go off if drunk people lean against my truck", so the highest sensitivity must be enabled.

Then that'd be a waste of money because you need an alarm to protect against drunks.

You'll need to get an alarm with a smart key fob. If you get a 1 way, it'll just beep without you noticing. If you get a 2 way, it'll beep, and alert your key fob.

I've always liked UPS better than FedEx for numerous reasons, but what happened yesterday when I was doing a favor for my boss will ensure that I never use FedEx again unless I absolutely have to...

My boss is from Nebraska and wanted me to mail a shirt and a pocketbook to her younger sister who lives in Nebraska.

I come to find out that everyone has to show ID when mailing something, even when paying in cash! Apparently, according to the clerk at this particular location,a package bomb went off in a FedEx warehouse and some people were injured. I can understand the need for extra security, but please explain to me how carding everyone including sweet old grandmothers is going to prevent this from happening.

I made it very clear that I was not going to be showing my address, since the return address was my boss's house (obviously different from my home address) and it was going to her sister in Nebraska. Obviously if I'm mailing something myself they have my address so I really don't give a shit, but in this case it was the principle of the thing. Basically, FedEx does not need my address since I'm just a third party doing his boss a favor! I gave the clerk my military ID, which does not have my address on it. I also found out that my name will have to be included on the shipping label (WTF?).

Needless to say, I will be using UPS from now on.

This is the very same basic reason I buy all my M-rated video games on Amazon. They don't require proof of age, only that your credit card is valid!

It's their company, and they can do whatever the fuck they want to do. Why is showing your ID such a big deal?

FYI, UPS has only carded me one time, and it was one of those rare times I think it was justified...

My boss ordered a relatively small package (forget what it was, something for the bar), and UPS made so many attempts to deliver it to Puck that they were refusing to do so and someone had to come to their distribution center in Horsham to pick it up.

My boss sent me one afternoon in November, which happened to be the first (and so far only, as of this post) snowstorm of the 2018-2019 winter season. I put the tire chains on the Tacoma and set off on my mission.

I made it to UPS incident-free, and my boss had told me ahead of time that I'd need to show my license to get the package, so I was prepared for that. Security waved me right through, butthe people at the front desk initially would not give me the package.

I played "I've just driven from Doylestown in a snowstorm and my boss is paying me good money to do this" card, and presented my license. One employee was like "How do we know you're from Puck?"

I have the employee a "Seriously...?" look and pointed to the PUCK logo on my shirt. The other employee was like "I'd let him have it..."

I got the package and ended up pushing a Kia out of the snow on the way back...
