I know this subject has been discussed way too much but I am having a tough time making a decision. 2002 4cyl auto 4wd vs 6cyl. My only concern is I occasionally drive to Mexico. How will the 4cyl do on hills? would like to hear from owners of 4cyl. thanks.

I had an older 22R 4cyl. Damn thing was awesome, I could tow anything up any hill. I just didn’t do it very fast.

Now I enjoy the 6 and wouldn’t go back. Take both around the block and see if you like them on city streets. That may make the decision easy for you.

Hey guys, looking for a recommendation.

My white tacoma hood is starting to flake really bad. I have chips about 5" in diameter flaking off the hood when I take it to a DIY car wash, and is showing down to the metal.

I have a bunch of small dents on it, so repainting seems like a waste of money, and I also do get up on the hood occasionally, so dont really care about the dents.

You guys think line-x or raptor-liner would be worth it? or maybe get just the hood wrapped? Dont want to spend a lot but dont wanna look at it anymore really. How much are we talking for linex or a wrap?

Anyone down in Tucson you could recommend?

Just an FYI on the wrap since I did mine last year. If there are chips in the paint and it isn’t either stripped completely or filled in somehow, you will see the lines where the chips are perfectly through the wrap if not make them even more noticeable.

if you get up on the hood, why not just sand it and rattle can it? The Line-x will likely cost you pretty close to a re-paint

Yea that is another option I didnt consider. When sanding, Im assuming Id take it all the way down to bare metal? I imagine the chips will just keep spreading unless I get off all the old paint.

if you sand it basically you have to just get off what is already loose or flaking off. Then the rest you just sand until it is all smooth, apply a primer then paint
